 Help me, on our Roster do we have a TE except for the rookie coming in. Signing Boldin and getting a TE, seems like priority for our offense!

Those are my guesses for the final roster this year. And, I'll bet they each start some games this year. Blizzard has looked pretty impressive in NFLE this season (at least in the games I've caught).

On an unrelated note...back when I was going to college at North Texas in the early '80s, we had a guy on the football team named Mack Faggott. He was a big, scary-looking dude. Actually, he wasn't a bad player, either.

Anyway, the school paper ran a story on him once, and the headline read (I'm not making this up):

"Faggott Finds Stability at Tight End Position"

I should have saved that article.

Yes, we have a TE in Edwards.

Don't be suprised when he has a break-out year in 2005.

BTW, The Cards will do just fine with the TEs we now have.

Aaron Golligay (Nebraska)was brought in from KC practice squad with New Offensive Coordinator Keith Rowan. He too figures to challenge for a roster spot.

I don't think those names are striking fear into anyone. We need a real TE.

Names don't strike fear into anyone. Play does.

Besides, just because you don't know who they are doesn't mean they're not any good. Who heard of Antonio Gates before 2 years ago?

You've heard of Freddie Jones, right? Yeah, signing that "name" really worked out well for us.

For those who don't know Golliday, he's a monster blocker. He was playing at a shade under 290, and has extremely good hands. He can sit in the middle of the field and catch. Not a guy that will run much after the catch, but uses his body well to screen off defenders. Smart kid.

Bobby Blizzard has had a good NFLE year so far.
I also like Femi (I know it's not his position)and the others we have on staff, a little mix and match can get the job done.

My strength is in the tightness of my Pecs and Biceps, my end needs work.

Anything is better than Freddie Jones. Sorry, but the two plays he made a game (and by play I mean 6 yard catch) did not make up for his consistent inability to block or catch the ball when we actually needed a catch. The two guys that pissed me off all year were Jones and Starks, and now they are both gone, thank God.

Hilarious draft story - I think from ESPN's Dan Patrick but it could have been from someone else -

Back in The Day - when the draft went something like 17 rounds, all the teams were integrated except for one - The Redskins under George (?) Preston Marshall.

As a publicity stunt, he let a local beat writer (named Heifetz) make the Redskins' final selection in the draft that year.

Heifetz who was (a) apparently an enlightened individual and (b) had a bit of the merry prankster in him - decided he would name an Afro American as the Redskins' 17th pick.

So he searches through Street & Smith and comes up with a dude from Middle Tennessee U named "Flavius Smith." He drafts the kid, walks up to Marshall with a big grin and says: "Guess what? I just integrated your football tean!"

Except for one thing: The dude was white.

I am with you on those two. I will add another and that was Clement. Even though he did not see to much playing time he still sucked.

Just the subtraction of those 3 should help us a lot
