Doan to receive contract extension

The Coyotes have scheduled a news conference for noon (MST) today to announce a contract extension for captain Shane Doan.
The financial terms and years added were not immediately available.
The team leader in scoring (20 goals, 35 assists through Thursday), Doan has played in all 55 Coyotes games this season.
Doan, 27, was the franchise's first choice, No. 7 overall, in the 1995 draft.
