That's great. I'll be more interested in watching the Pro Bowl now than the SuperBowl. That's a first.

Damn. You guys are fast. I got the official media release from the Cards at 10:05 AM.

I have a cup of coffee then download the three attached jpgs, get set to open a thread, paste in the media release, slap in the three pictures of Dockett and go read my newspaper.

Just in case, I check the board first and see that cardsguy had the story up at 9:45 AM.

What's the use of being on the media list if you communists are going to scoop management every time?

Seriously, this is great. Well done cardsguy. It wasn't so long ago we couldn't get any timely info on the Cards. Things are light years better now.

Please continue to share all info you get asap. That's one of the things this site is for.

True that.

I used to go to a local newstand and pay $4.50 for a week old Sunday edition of the Republic just to get info on the Cards. Otherwise I'd find out a month later that someone had been signed or cut or injured.

Of course there was a time when we only got to watch the Cards twice a year...when they played the Cowboys. Gotta love the new tech if you're a fan of a team that's outside your area.

man-- how good is that 2004 draft looking now

two probowlers-- Fitz and Dockett
a probowl type player-- Dansby

solid starter-- Antonio Smith

of course, the 2001 draft produced three pro bowlers: Adrian Wilson, Vandenbosch and Leonard Davis, just not all with the Cards

Interesting. I wonder how many other teams have had 3 guys from their same draft make the pro bowl with each player going from different teams?

my new theme is "continuity"

I could argue that the reason the Cards drafted three probowlers yet only retained one of them is directly related to frequent coaching changes--

Vandenbosch was liked, but injured. Denny showed up and decided he wasnt part of the future and let him sign elsewhere.

Leonard Davis was a free agent the year of a coaching change. New staff decided he wasnt part of the future and let him sign elsewhere.

Dont get me wrong. Denny needed to go. I just hope that we can stick with this coaching staff for more than the historical 2.5 year average.

Ross Tucker at CNNSI has a great article about how players for the Dolphins and Falcons cant be comfortable right now. New coaches tend to look askance at the old coaches players, preferring to bring in "their guys".

Who do we have left from the 2003 team other than the rookies?

Wilson, Shipp and Hodel??? Out of 50+ players.

Of course that's probably a good thing.
