The Dodgers would like to save money. Well, wouldn't we all, buddy. Good thing it's not an either/or proposition. Because Andrew Friedman can trade for the players he needs to compete in the National League West and stay under the luxury tax threshold. Let's stipulate first that while the baseball pundit class has beaten the Dodgers-will-stay-under-the-luxury-tax-threshold-if-it's-the-last-thing-they-do idea to within an inch of its life, no club bigwig has said any such thing.
