Exactly. We are becoming way too dependent on the long ball.
Another thing that continues to hurt us is defense. I could be off in my perception (I'm mostly listening on the radio), but it seems like errors always come at just the wrong time for us, while the Dodgers are making solid defensive plays left and right.
Forsure. A lot of people keep hammering the pitching. When your offense is in a funk like this, it's going to affect your pitching because the pitchers all feel like they are on an island and if they give up a lead it's insurmountable. I realize we have 4 runs right now, but they are coming at the wrong times. The Dbacks are doing a lot of things lately that look good on the box score but have very little impact on the game. Peralta and Pollock being the main culprits.
Obviously we are not as good as we hinted early in the season, but they aren't this bad. Right now they just look like a young team that's in over their heads with everyone pressing. The problem is, we aint that young lol.
Hopefully we can turn it around against the Cubs but I have a bad feeling once again about that series. The ballpark is going to be chalk full of nuts with all the cubs fans in the valley. Going to feel like a road series for the Dbacks, which is always disheartening.
