Gibby is not a well man. He is also not a "people" person which is why the Dodgers parted company with Mattingly.
Why in the world would they consider Gibson to take on the pressure of managing one of the most expensive rosters in baseball? And his style of not defining roles from day to day among veteran position players.
Andre Ethier shouting at Mattingly on camera, followed by mutual agreement that the Dodgers and Mattingly would part company doesn't lend itself to another stiff running the show.
One dramatic home run is not the basis for overseeing 30-45 personnel.
