an effective way to block the Internet and not the intranet, if you are going through a proxy?

I havent touched proxy software in years, but I thought the old Microsoft Proxy Server would allow you to disallow * and allow yourdomain.com.

I also thought there were some admin-specific stuff in IE that will lock it down in the case of kiosks and such.

What exactly are you trying to block?

If you are trying to block the entire Internet, you should be able to IE Content Advisor to block the internet.

That's exactly what I was going to say. If its certain type of content there are also programs like Net Nanny etc...

You can set up a network to share information between PC's without internet.
