The Miami Dolphins landed arguably the best offensive linemen in the 2025 NFL draft class before turning their attention to the defensive side of the ball in a new seven-round mock draft from ESPN's Matt Miller.

With the No. 13 overall pick, Miller projects the Dolphins will land LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell. While many have him as the top lineman and a sure-fire top 10 pick, Miller has Campbell slipping with Missouri's Armand Membou instead landing at No. 7 overall.

There could be a big change at left tackle in Miami, depending on what happens with Terron Armstead's contract situation. Regardless, the Dolphins need to improve their protection of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa whether Armstead returns or not.

Campbell started at tackle in all three seasons at LSU, but his short arms (measured at 32⅝ inches at the combine, well below the NFL's 34-inch standard) have tagged him as a player likely to move to guard. He has the poise and movement ability to mask his length issues at tackle. He's a mauler with coachable upside at tackle or guard. Given how desperate the Dolphins are for a quality tackle, they'd be wise to try Campbell there first and move him to guard if needed.

If all goes according to plan, the Dolphins already have a left tackle of the future on the roster in 2024 second-round pick Patrick Paul with former first-rounder Austin Jackson handling right tackle duties. But neither have shown enough to guarantee that they're the long-term solutions at those spots.

Campbell could potentially fill one of those roles, and/or he could begin his career as a guard, where there's a more immediate hole in the Dolphins' lineup.

With Miami's other nine selections, Miller largely focused on rebuilding the defense:

  • Round 2, No. 48 overall: Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA
  • Round 3, No. 98 overall: Billy Bowman Jr, S, Oklahoma
  • Round 4, No. 116 overall: Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee
  • Round 4, No. 135 overall: Kyle McCord, QB, Syracuse
  • Round 5, No. 150 overall: Jaylin Lane, WR, Virginia Tech
  • Round 5, No. 155 overall: Ajani Cornelius, OT, Oregon
  • Round 7, No. 224 overall: RJ Oben, EDGE, Notre Dame
  • Round 7, No. 231 overall: Marques Sigle, S, Kansas State
  • Round 7, No. 253 overall: Justin Walley, CB, Minnesota

Perhaps the biggest issue in Miller's mock is the Dolphins not addressing their glaring defensive line deficiencies and waiting until Round 7 to add a cornerback.
