Indy isnt trading the pick. They didnt go through all the drama of cutting Manning if there was even a remote chance that they would listen to offers for the pick.

Its off the table.

Agreed. The Colts made a commitment to starting over like they did when they drafted Manning. This is why they cut ties with so any core players. If you're a Colts fan, go ahead and buy that Luck jersey.

Kurt did it

And I don't think Kurt's loyalty was that great, there is a business side he saw as well. I know that sounds outrageous due to his personal persona, but he went with the possibility of signing not only with another team but a division rival and he did not have the lashing Alex Smith has gotten over the years in San Francisco...I think it is very possible Alex does become a Dolphin

maybe he would have, but I thought he still took less here even after that? And Kurt got some pretty bad bashing when he was still splitting time with Matty. I really hope you're right about Miami though

I dont see how its disloyal of Smith to go listen to other offers, especially with the Niners obviously wanting Manning. What is he supposed to do, wait for Manning to make up his mind and possibly end up with no one to negotiate a decent deal with?

I agree. With their courtship of Manning the 49ers are certainly thinking on themselves, so Smith needs to put himself first as well.
