Owner Stephen Ross says the Dolphins would have cut Brandon Marshall had they not found a trade partner.

Ross made the disclosure in a phone call the Dolphins set up with a disgruntled fan. Ross said the team had been shopping Marshall for a "couple weeks" before shipping him to the Bears, and that "nobody would return their phone calls" about the mercurial receiver. Ross may just be trying to soften the blow of an unpopular trade, but it's clear Marshall's stock is near an all-time low around the league following his latest off-the-field incident. Although Marshall has "no fear" of being suspended, it's quite possible he'll draw at least a one-game ban.

Further proof Ross is an idiot. Trying to save face by throwing the Bears and Marshall under the bus. No wonder that tool gets turned down by just about everyone he courts.

Another thought just popped into my head. The Dolphins have become the team that has the worst rep in the league. Can't sign anyone considered top talent whether it be as a player or coach.

This tells me they way overpaid for Marshall and the Cards were smart to walk away from that auction.

But if he's cut, I take Marshall in a heartbeat.

I assume you are talking about Brandon Marshall but they traded him to the Bears.

B Marshall is a beast but has a medical issue (bipolar?) which makes him untouchable in my book. This would be the 3rd team that got rid of him because of his behavior.

I'm guessing you would have liked us to go after TO and Moss at some point in time as well.

Yup, I'd have been all over Marshall, TO, or Moss. I'd just sign them to 1 year deals at first though.

Marshall has Borderline Personality Disorder, similar to Bipolar. It can be debilitating, but there is drug and behavior therapy that is very effective once you realize you have the disorder and are willing to work at it.

Thing is that Marshall hasn't shown a willingness to work at it.

A top notch talent that keeps getting moved from team to team.

Same pattern as Moss and TO but some still would want them.

It takes talent to win it all in the NFL but more than that it takes a team with the right culture and attitude. These three simply can't put the team first and that's why they keep getting traded or cut.

Nobody knows if he is working at it or not. It takes time, but him coming out and admitting to it, tells me at least he has talked to professionals about it. Nobody knows about this disorder, except professionals, and those people who have recieved treatment for it.
