Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Let's see what this Williams kid can do come gametime. If he pans out, him and fitz would be unguardable.

Might as well count on the 6 weeks. not the 3.

one more such instance and you gotta cut him. part of being a player under contract is being reliable. if you can't rely on him to play games you have to cut him and use his roster spot on someone upon which you can rely. maybe we can trade him for bob sanders.

do you think doucet will be here next year? i remember one player saying he was scared to get an injury because his back up just might take his job for good. good example now is eagles mike vick and kolb.

Injuries or not, I will forever love Early for his plays in the Packers game.

Doucet has to come back with a vengeance or else he's a goner. With this team's ability to find good receiving prospects, I don't see them hanging onto him.

I think we are going to see Roberts play. I only hope when the real game starts his will start as well! Too bad about Doucet he has real NFL talent but a very breakable body.

Seems like the same philosophy that turned Vanden Bosch into a household name for the Titans.

also seems like the same philosophy that turned Andre Wadsworth into a career-never was.

there's always the exception to the rule but most times, when a guy can't ever stay healthy, that follows him for his career.

I hope I'm wrong, but this seems to be the beginning of the end for Doucet in AZ. Williams and Roberts are gonna start making plays.

I think everyones overreacting a bit because they are frustrated hes not playing and we need him.

Probably should wait to make a evaluation for his future on this after the season? Cut him - now? LOL

Not at this household. I love me some Doucet and ive seen flashes of talent. The problem is, it's only flashes because he doesnt stay healthy.

What does not work in his favor that the 3-8 weeks he's out is going to give Williams, Roberts and Komar opportunities to supplant him on the depth chart.

I think we're being a bit cold here. He's no rook or FA signing, let's wish him a fast recovery before we talk of his needing to be cut. Good luck Early.

Im a little more than worried about Williams saying he was in awe of the NFL speed on his first snap. Doubled with his misreads and drop in game 1.

In Whiz's monday presser, he didn't seem to be holding Doucet's injuries against him and said they were more of bad breaks than anything else. Obviously, Early works hard and is liked or he'd be gone. Cutting him would be pretty a stupid thing to do in my mind.

Remember when we were overcrowded at the WR position and there was a daily "let's make a deal" drumbeat from Cardinal fandom?

It'll happen every time - "Cut too many guys because you think you're deep at one position, and you'll suddenly run into a rash of injuries that will make that position get really thin really fast." (Same thing happened with our D-line the year KVB got injured).

Thank goodness we kept 6 receivers (including Roberts) on our active roster.

While I'm hoping Early recovers quickly and completely, I'm equally as paranoid about whether this can actually happen. So let me be the first to wonder out loud - "Has any other team picked up OJ or Gant yet?"

This is Kyle Vanden Bosch all over again IMO. Someone that we know is good but can't stay healthy. He isn't costing us that much so hold on to him.
