Dr Post wins Haskell at Monmouth Park, Authentic third

Belmont Stakes runner-up Dr Post surprisingly took the lead at the start and held off a late challenge by Ny Traffic to capture the $1 million Haskell Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday. Ridden magnificently by Joe Brave in his first ride on the colt, Dr Post covered the 11/8 mile Grade 1 stakes in 1:50.46. The win was the third in four starts this year for the Todd Pletcher-trained colt with his only loss coming against Tiz the Law in the Belmont last month.
