I noticed an article had some directions for finding the draft sequence. The link below doesn't update until Tuesday usually, because of Monday night games. That said, I know the guys behind the publication and they use the correct formula for all tie breakers, so you can rely upon it. Their draft guide is good, but not on top of my list.

Just select the "draft sequence" link. Enjoy and I hope you all had a great holiday. By the way thanks to all of you for the kind posts and emails about my mom. She is doing well and was able to join us for Thanksgiving. Our differences aside, which are for amusement purposes only anyway, I really appreciate the kind words and I shared them with her.

So, for eli we are battling with Oakland right? Since they are the only team in the top 6 besides us that desperately needs a QB?. Dang they need to start winning badly.

If you want a player in the NFL you can get him.

We got a couple good RB's, Clement, and other we could use to trade up to the top spot.

Peace

We may be able to trade Clement to the local iron workers union in Milwaukee for some Pabst. They might only give us PBR Light though. I hear they build some nice turnstiles up there. I am sure they can use him as a prototype.

Nothing personal, but which good RBs would those be?

#3

Well, if you can trust this, then we now sit at #3, since we currently have a weaker schedule than Jax or Oak. The SOS could change still, but as they currently stand, if SD and Atlanta each win once, we would be ahead of them (as it appears) and would be #1. That's assuming we win no more games of course.

Atlanta plays Jacksonville, so either Atlanta gets the 3rd win, or Jax gets at kleast a 4th to be out of the 3 win picture. Same with SD and Oakland.

SD also plays Detroit and Pittsburgh as possible wins. Oakland plays Pittsburgh and Jacksonville plays Houston.

Atlanta's best chance seems to be Jacksonville at home. Wish they hadn't choked that 21 point lead vs. Tenn.

Of course, it's not like Atl would be in the market for a QB, so.....

I think the problem with any team drafting ahead of Arizona, they can either trade that pick to a lower team or pick and trade after the choice. The real shot is clear cut worst record. keep fingers crossed.

Depends. If Atlanta is 1 and we are 2, for example, I don't think they trade. They would probably want a Roy Williams or other WR for Vick to throw too. If they trade down, (benefit would be lower $$ slotting), there is a danger we could take that WR (a need for us as well perhaps) if the team trading up took Manning. So, they would probably stay put. Same might be true for Jax, if they somehow got #1, since they have Leftwich.

SD, on the other hand, may decide to go with Brees, and be a more likely trade down.

For the record, I want the Cards to win games. But, need to find a silver lining when we lose. So, how about this for a compromise for the rest of the way. Root for the Cards, but also root for the other 4 teams that have 2 or 3 losses?

I'm with the crowd that thinks a coaching change might do wonders for the current talent, but I wouldn't mind the new coach having Manning to work with either.

Okay, but if a lower team makes a deal they can't refuse , Manning is gone. Like, Atlanta, SD, or Jax gets #1. Green Bay or Washington , etc. makes a deal for their #1 and futures or #2 and #3 for Manning.

SD, on the other hand, may decide to go with Brees, and be a more likely trade down.

I don't think SD would bypass Manning. Brees was a #2 and stinks it up.

The other teams better start winning, because our schedule is brutal to end out the season. The winning % of our remaining teams will jump. Even if our opponents don't win another game, including the Card game, the winning % for the Cards opponents will be:

129-127 for a 0.504 winning %. This is the worst that it will be if all the teams lose (SF, Carolina, Seattle, Min, Chicago) If that happens, of course, the Card will have 4 more wins and this will be a moot point.

If the Cards lose the last 4 games, then the worst winning % for the remaining teams would be 133-123 or 0.5195 % if those teams lose the remainder of their games, except for the Cards game.

The Raiders still have to play SD & vice versa & ATL plays Jacksonville so their winning % will each go down quite a bit.

Remember, the worse the opponents winning %, the higher you draft if records are identical.

1 San Diego 2-10 0.167 97-95 0.505
2 Atlanta 2-10 0.167 105-87 0.547

3 Oakland 3-9 0.250 98-94 0.510

It still looks like we'll be 4-5. Go Raiders. Go Jags. Go Falcons. Go San Diego.

We are now competing with SD and OAK for our QB. It's possible that SD wouldn't go QB with Brees in tow, but they are not too pleased with him and may want to go another route. We know that ATL and JAC wouldn't draft a QB, so if they are ahead of us, we could likely trade up with them to get our man as ATL did with Vick a few years back. Let's just hope we can increase our position. Leave it to the Cards to go on a 4 game win streak to finish the season, though....

I'm thinking with Vick back, Atlanta might have 2 more wins in 'em. I'm not sure with all the dissension in Oakland that they'll win another game this year.

No. They got Atlanta's first round last year.

We need San Diego to beat Detroit and Oakland to beat San Diego.

San Diego has a reasonable shot to beat us out too. And Atlanta's schedule isn't exactly easy, they may stay ahead of us too.

Oakland has been playing better of late Mirer seems to have settled down, but their defense is just decimated they had 7 starters out against Denver. I'd see a real possibility of them losing to San Diego if the Chargers aren't tanking, especially LT going off against their depleted run defense.

You know what is kinda funny, going into the season the cards had what was called roughly the 3rd easiest schedule, or was it first in the league?

Now through week 13, we have one where only four teams have played better opponents. Ours is .542

KC's is .402

The hardest .599 buffalo
Houston .568

In fact of the top 16 teams only 2 have average opponents of over .500

Miami .521
New England .510

And of the top 10
only four have have over a .470
Miami
NE
Indy .490
Philly .479

Obviously if you win the records of who you play go down, and vice versa

But still, it does have some merit to it.

Very Interesting....

Oakland seems to be the only team that may be in a position to pick Manning ahead of us. Jacksonville has Leftwich and if they end up with a very high draft pick they will take the top WR. San Diego has way too bad of a defense and will probably take a DT. Atlanta, Detroit and Houston will obviously not take a QB. The only team with 2 1st rnd picks is NE and with Brady they will probably stay with the two picks, or if they do trade up it will be for an impact RB or WR. Either way we can get Rothlisberger (sp?) or Manning. I would prefer Manning but I think we would be good with either.

It is now down to us vs the Chargers and da Raiders...

Pray that the Chargers lose to the Raiders cause that is our last shot otherwise I see almost no way either team wins another game.

Either way I would guess one of those team has a lock on either Manning or trading the pick we should finish in the 2nd slot and that just stinks we need the number one slot it's our destiny darn it.
