Worked a lot better with JJ in there.

Sadly, the entire run game seemed to work better with JJ in there.

The problem is that they take way too long to develop because Kurt is slow to haand the ball off.

Hightower isnt running with authority and confidence like he did vs St. Louis.. he's taking too long to hit the hole at full speed

Please, just stop running them.
Please?
Yeah, I was noticing how many runs of ours were draw plays and how ineffective they are. If we want to run, we need to line up in the I-formation and push forward. We can't run any draw plays against the giants, they are too disciplined of a defense to fall for it.

I dunno ifyou noticed but when JJ is int here they dont have as many at the line and if they do the all drop back into coverage. When JJ is in there it was like they were expecting a screen or a pass. When Hightower is in there they overload the line.

I think what's been missing in a lot of the running plays in general is a head of steam when getting to the line.

Looking at Portis and Gore yesterday, while watching my beloved Cardinals, I saw explosion immediately after the handoff that could propel the ball carrier a number of yards deep when there was no hole, and 20 yards deep when there was.

Whatever the reason, handoff speed, coach's preaching about finding a lane, the Cardinals run game has no "pop" unless there's a magical outside play where the TE for once gets a good block and seals the edge.

Hightower's a downhill runner who should excel in the role.

I see the problem as Hightower is a cut and go runner and when he gets the ball on the draw he is flat footed and gets swarmed. Arrington has a better first step so he succeeds more on the draws. I think if we scrap the draws and run Hightower we will find a lot more success. That play is getting really annoying though.

we run so many draws that it doesnt come as a surprise to the defense. STOP RUNNING DRAWS and maybe they will work once in a late game situation.

Straight up run the ball with Hightower.

The draws were effective last game. JJ's TD was a draw. A 15 yard run from TH was draw. Didn't JJ have a 15+ yard run off of a draw too?

Defenses are getting a lot of pressure in the B gap on us. Sendlein/Lutui is where the majority of the line breakdowns are coming from.

They are trying the fake WR screen into the draw and that isn't working well. They are selling the play because the RB is too close to the QB alerting at least myself that it will be one of those plays.

Thing is, draw plays should be some of the most effective running plays in the arsenal, since the passing attack is so strong, and the draw plays work best against an aggressive pass rush. (Most of the time. Can't do anything about a pass rusher coming free right into the running back.)

You want some hilarious examples of the draw being a bad idea, check out some footage of the Lions when they were trying to run Mouse Davis's run 'n shoot offense. The passing offense was horrible, teams were stacking 9 in the box against Barry Sanders as a matter of course... and half the running plays they ran were draw plays. That was early in Barry's career, and he made his yards anyway, but it was completely ridiculous.

Rugby,

awful play diagram the RT is clearly putting his man directly in path of the RB!! This must be from the cards playbook!

Like I said after the game, trickeration. Both of his TD's the Seahawks guessed wrong.

The reason we run so many draws IMHO is we are in the shotgun so much. It's a catch 22, nobody can stop Warner from the gun, but we're not playing the right kind of RB's to run out of the gun.

Look for highlights of the Chiefs game this weekend, they ran a Pistol formation where they were in shotgun and the HB was lined up a few yards behind the QB. It worked well for them and could be useful for Hightower.
