I shudder at the thought at what this combination might do against this defense. If Bradford and Cook can team up for 141 yards and 2 TD's(should have been 3 had it not been for Matheiu's great play), imagine how a combination that lit up the Bucs defense for 171 yards is going to do. I'm hoping Bowles can game plan something to stem this tide.

I agree. If we cannot stop them then it is going to be a long day.

This is my biggest concern. Their running game is middle of the road and from time to time they are going to beat you long but it's their mid range passing game where they can kill you and Graham is one of the best TE's in the game. The Saints offense is extremely potent at home. Atlanta held Graham pretty much in check limiting him to 45 yards and a TD so it can be done.

Nonody generally stops These two and are arguably the best players at their respective positions in the whole league. They are gonna get theirs! Kind o like Calvin Johnson getting his. We still won though.

Heck, if KC can limit them to 4 catches for 16 yards we can stop them as well. The new Double Deuce will shut him down.

Also notice in the 2nd half Calvin Johnson did almost nothing. At the half the Cards clearly stated they needed to give PP more help, they did, and that was it.

The 2 TD's were a play where Dansby cut in front for a picksix but the throw was so good he missed it, and PP got caught because he thought dansby got the ball. the 2nd one was a pick play where they didn't even need to actually pick PP because his own man(think it was Honey) essentially forced him to run around and he couldn't get there. There's not a CB in the NFL that can cover that play if run that well.

2nd half with some help now and then, PP was just fine. The guy is the best WR in the NFL, nobody stops him 1 on 1.

If we scheme to stop Graham we'll be ok, then you just worry about others.

I am not sure the Cardinals have an answer for Sproles out of the backfield, and Graham. It is nothing against our current group of players, it is just they don't matchup well.

Im not worried about it. New Orleans has no threats on either side of the ball other than Brees and Graham. Colston and Sproles are a distant second. If Cards can keep them out of the end zone and under 20-25 pts, Cards should be able to steal this one. NO defense is still pretty bad, Palmer should be able to dump some points on them.

Louisiana is a pretty close knit sports community.....we have two guys in our secondary who will be playing a "Homecoming" type game....... I think this one is going to be exciting to watch.

I think this is very similar to the Stafford/Johnson situation we just faced, Graham is going to get his. The biggest difference is that Brees is better than Stafford, but depending on the package they have on the field I think we could put PP 1 on 1 with him a few times and in packages with 3+ WRs maybe we could see what TJ can do 1 on 1 with him. I'm sure he will see his fair share of double coverage as well, but I hope we don't overdo it with the double coverage because Brees can pick us apart if too many other guys are single covered all day long. This will certainly be interesting to watch that is for sure.

I can't disagree with this. However, NO is very tough at home. I do think this game is going to be very competitive.

I shiver at the thought of what might happen if Bowles plays as much m2m coverage as he has the first 2 weeks :bang:

Well, it looks like my fears were realized. Brees and Graham picked apart this defense like a buzzard on a carcass. There's simply no defense answer for a short range passing game and that's not good. I shudder at the thought of Vernon Davis having at this defense. Hopefully when D-Wash comes back things can get better. They certainly can't get any worse. 13 more games left. All is not lost yet.

One thing about it. The Niners have the same W/L record as us.:D

Not only do the Cardinals lose but Graham beats me in two fantasy football matchups almost single handedly. :bang:

I think you underestimated our front 7. We have a lot of young guys on the Defensive line now. Cameron Jordan is going to be a legitimate star.

And Vacarro is very similar to Mathieu in his ball hawking skills. He has very good instincts. He's super versatile as well. He plays S, FS, even some LB.

Also, our offense is basically the same offense that have set records over the past few years. I don't know why you think we wouldn't have any offensive threats. Just because we don't have any big name pro bowlers? Brees spreads the ball around a lot so we never have that one guy who racks up a ton of stats. Colston is a legitimate number 1 though, and well, you saw what Jimmy did.

Really? I love Honey Badger. I watched every snap he played at LSU. He maybe has the best football instincts I've ever seen. But you serious thought that he was going to shut Jimmy down? I mean he gives up a foot in height and almost 100 lbs.

carey, I think/hope that the poster who wrote that TM was going to shut down Graham was saying it with tongue in cheek. And while TM couldn't overcome the foot in height disadvantage, he did a GREAT tackling job on him. I knew about TM's ballhawking skills, but it's his tackling that has impressed me. And even moreso considering his size.
