Some people are simply in love with this guy but in my opinion he has as many flaws if not more than Amare.

He is basically living off of his height and athleticism. A major injury will impact him much more than it did Amare because I don't really see any "skills" in him.

Offensively he can't shoot, he can't shoot from the line, he can't put the ball on the floor.

This month alone he was held to 9 points in 41min against Minnesota, 9 points 33min against Chicago, 11 in 28 min against Indiana and 8 in 31min against Denver.

On christmas he was held to 5 in 44min against Boston.

On the season he was held below 10 points 6 times in 39 games and 12 or below 13 times.

Since his rookie season he hasn't managed to shoot 60% from the line. Over the last 3 years both his rebounding and scoring average dropped in each year.

If this guy ever has microfracture surgery, he is done.

I remember what people said about Amare as a rookie that he has no skills and is just an athletic freak. Everyone knew that wasn't the case with his jumpshot improving and him taking it coast to coast on ocasions.
For some reason these arguments were never used against Howard, but they are so true in his case.

Is Dwight Howard truly a franchise player? I'd say no. He is David Robinson without offensive skills.

If you think about it there is probably no post-player in the league that deserves the title franchise player except for Tim Duncan. Maybe that is due to the standards that Duncan set or because of the lack of quality.

Bosh, Nowitzki and Amare lack defense. Bosh and Nowitzki lack toughness, Amare lacks size.

Actually, Magics fed Howard to I don't know how many TOs to learn the post moves. He is now adequate close to the basket, but nothing from 8 feet away. Had Amare gotten the same amount of chances, with what we know about his learning ability, he should be a better low post player than Dwight. Well, life was made too easy for Amare by Nash setting him up for good stats!
