Love it!!!

He is already taking accountability for his own actions and working to ensure he starts next season.

“They say coaches choose who play, but it’s really the player who determines if he plays or not,” Watford said. “I guess I was not the best player to be out there (last season), but that’s kind of how it went. I learned from things and it was a process. This season will be different. I’m putting in the work mentally and physically.”

Watford is a regular inside the Cardinals’ training facility, fine-tuning his mind and body for the upcoming offseason workouts. After finishing an interview last week, he was asked if his work day was over. No, he said. Next up was a dip in the cold tub. Then it was back to studying the playbook.

“It’s the NFL,” Watford said. “They don’t have time to wait on you. You’ve got to be ready when it’s time.”

It would certainly be nice for our young guys to step up, and build some decent continuity on the line for the next few years.

I love Earl Watford. I love him so much, that I asked him out when he refused to date my daughter.

Just watching this guy practice was a joy. He has a great attitude!

I just hope he pans out and plays lights out when given the chance.

Worked for Leinart!

If BASK doesn't force him into RG after drafting him so high, something is wrong!

The thing that struck me was how articulate, direct and insightful Goodwin is. What a joke Grimm was as a coach. No wonder no one has hired him.

I heard a different story. He said no to you because you drive a 1983 Dodge Aries. LOL

This line can be tits if Earl can figure out who to man handle on each play. This O-line coach doesn't pull any punches when discussing his players either, real style.

Watford didn't play a single down last season. Not a single down on offense; not a single down period.

Mike Gibson had more snaps last year than Earl Watford.

I never said he was going to be the next John Hannah, but doesn't mean I can't root for the guy.

I didn't say you can't or shouldn't root for him; I'm the guy who loves Jim Dray. I just don't get what the enthusiasm for him is across the board. Dude couldn't get on the field when Mike Gibson and Nate Potter somehow found a way. You'd hope that your fourth-round pick would find a way to get ahead of a guy who was a 7th rounder the prior year.

It's so weird that so many people are saying that 2013 was a great draft class based on the assumption that Jonathan Cooper is going to change games and that Earl Watford is going to be able to contribute and beat out Paul Fanika.

how many snaps had rodgers before he took favre job

LOL. I'm not sure that Alan Fanika is the same caliber of player as Brett Favre.

But, taking your question at face value, Aaron Rodger had played in 7 games over three seasons before the Packers handed him the reins. He attempted 59 passes and 9 runs.

I hope Watford steps up, and I'm not giving up on him. But I have to agree with K9 here. What, exactly, have we seen? He looked good in a couple preseason games against other 3rd stringers. If you go read what the coaches are saying about Watford in this article, then go read what they are saying about Massie. Pretty much the same. Both with physical talent. Both can't figure it out mentally. Watford gets a little more slack because he is a year younger and played at a small school. I'm glad Watford seems to want it, I just worry about the rest of what I read.

Two solid running backs and a defender who looks like he has all-pro potential might also have something to do with why people think 2013 was a great draft class.

We, as fans, don't know squat as to whether Watford can be a good starter. He and Massie will have to prove it in camp and preseason that they should start. They couldn't last year, that's all we really know for sure.

It's good that he has the physical talent to play. That's half the battle. It sounds like he has the desire which is another half. If he gets it down mentally, he'll have the last half and be a good player :D.

He can either become a Carl Nicks, and go on to become a high level OG, or a Serio Kelemete and never be heard from again.

I enjoy hearing that he is putting in the work. Hopefully he is ready to challenge for the RG spot.

Come on Big Earl!
