Some quick notes on the players I thought might interest the Cardinals:

The East Squad:

QB Jimmy Garopollo, Eastern Illinois. Love the compact delivery and quick release. Needs to strengthen his build. Good feet. Misfired while throwing on the run. Reminds me a lot of Marc Bulger in terms of throwing style. Seems to be much more extraverted than Bulger---more of a leader.

RB Zach Bauman, Northern Arizona. Love the quick feet and acceleration. Seems to know how to find a crease.

NT/DT Jason Bromley, Syracuse. Space eater with a good motor.

DE Ethan Westbrooks, West Texas A&M. Strong and fluid off the edge albeit versus weak tackles in this game. Looks the part, though.

CB Ricardo Allen, Purdue. A gamer this kid---good tackler, play the ball. Good KO and punt return man too.

CB Ross Cockrell, Duke. I had him in my Mock #1---love this kid. he's a press CB (who had to play off coverage in this game). Made a great interception in the 4th quarter. Good feet and excellent sense of timing as to where the ball is in relation to his man.

CB Pierre Desir, Lindenwood. Very intrigued with him. Has very good size---looks about 6-1, 200---and very good speed. Closes very quickly on the ball.

SS Tre Boston, North Carolina. Very physical in the box. Trash talker with mojo---but brings his game.

FS Hakeem Smith, Louisville. Has good ability in coverage---looks like he could cover TEs.

K Zach Hocker, Arkansas. Good leg---60 yard range on FGs.

West Squad:

QB Keith Price, Washington. Stands tall in the pocket. Good arm and excellent wheels. Slight of frame---needs to build strength, but is a solid athlete. He needs grooming obviously, but he's got upside because of the arm and quick, fast feet.

RB Ben Malena, Texas A&M. Fast, quick and a lot tougher than I thought he'd be. Really gets after it. Probably would be a very good ST player as well.

WR Chandler Jones, San Jose St. Gets open and commands the ball. Needs to build his body, but the quick feet and good hands are there.

TE Jordan Najvar, Baylor. Good blocker who ran and made a nice catch on a slightly overthrown seam route.

WR Bernard Reedy, Toledo. Small but fast and slippery. Like Jones he commands the ball. Made a nice TD catch on a deep ball after missing a deep catch earlier. The kid is a gamer.

G Dakota Dozier, Furman. College tackle converted to guard and looks real good inside. Plays hard and with good pop.

DT Beau Allen, Wisconsin. Big and active. Not especially athletic, but plays and battles hard.

NT Justin Ellis, Louisiana Tech. Big wide body who nearly had a sack up the middle. Needs to shed some weight, but has good strength.

DE Larry Webster, Bloomsberg. Has a knack for getting to the QB. good strength and technique.

S Alden Darby, Arizona St. Good range---made two interceptions, one on an easy floater.

Thanks for the info. So not OT's or OLBers?

The OTs were not good at all in this game, although I didn't key on them all that much, just when they were getting beat, which seemed like every other play. One OT from Bloomsberg got knocked straight back right on his arse from a first pop on a bull rush from the DE, Larry Webster, who was his teammate at Bloomsberg. It was bizarre.

The hardest position to evaluate in a game like this is OLB because they can't, by rules, blitz or rush the passer. No OLB or ILB stood out to me, but when I watch again at some point I will take a closer look.

The LB the NFL Network gang talked the most about was Max Bullough the ILB from Michigan St. who was suspended for the Rose Bowl for an undisclosed violation of team rules. Bullough looked 20 pounds overweight---weighed in at 265---and seems to lack the speed to be more than just a run stuffing ILB in short yardage situations.

Thanks Mitch, I wanted to watch the game myself but life happened.

Truly bizarre to have two trench guys from little old Bloomsburg in any kind of "all star" game and that one blew the other up is kinda funny.
