Hey! It's the kid from Kingsman! Who woulda thunk?

I went in knowing it was the same actor that played Eggsy and just never saw it at all while watching Eddie. He really got into the character.

How could we remake Cool Runnings but with white people? Got it, skis. Nailed it!

Just saw the previews.

I'm guessing he doesn't win, but teaches everyone a valuable lesson. :)

I'm just being snarky, I will probably go see this. I'm a sucker for a warm hearted sports movie. I just wish they could come up with a slight variation on the formula once in a while...

Well, just like Cool Runnings (also about the '88 Olympics), this story is based on a true Olympic story. So, the formula would be ... life. :)

You sure about that? I've read that cool runnings is like 90% fiction.

And you can make a true story without sticking to the exact cool runnings formula which is:

Unlikely hero desperately wants to go to the olympics. Nobody believes in him! He finds a washed up disgraced coach to help him, him he is even opposed by his own country but he finds a at to overcome it all and finally gets there but he is mocked and dismissed by his fellow competitors but then he does better than anyone expected and earns everyone's respect.

Yes, Cool Runnings was loosely based on a true story. Many differences between real life and that film. :D

There is a reference made to the Jamaican bobsled team in this film. Kind of a throwaway line.

I know I was so disappointed when I learned it was pretty much all made up other than there was a Jamaican bobsled team :(. The coach didn't exist and none of the characters were really rooted in much reality either.

Anyway like I said I'll probably go see this it still looks good I just wish they could find a different way to tell a feel good story. Plus the preview really annoyed me cuz they showed the entire movie even him at the Olympics! Lol. I'm trying not to watch previews anymore cuz they just give way too much away anymore

that's not just the cool runnings formula... it's pretty much every sports movie ever made. Rocky is unlikely hero desperately wants to win title... Micky is washed up coach to help him. The Bad News Bears are unlikely heroes who have Butterfield as washed up disgraced coach... Mighty Ducks... and so on and so on and so on.

Hell, I even wrote a script years ago that was literally ALL of that set in the world of kid's competitive go cart racing... and then found out when finished there was literally the exact same script that just sold... with the SAME TITLE!

LOL that's funny. I cant tell you how much your world of hollywood writers and interesting things happening all the time fascinates me Cheese. Seriously.

I still want to hear some of those dang stories you said you would never tell about celebrities doing insane crap. lol I wish someone would offer a service where I could just be like a fly on the wall on a hollywood set for a day. Like I dont do anything or talk to anyone, I just get to stand there and watch how everything gets done. I've seen little glimpses of it through a photographer muddy of mine, and it's so fascinating! That's the only way to describe Hollywood, lol, so much weird crap.

When I was a kid I always kindof wanted to be a writer. But then when it came time to come up with original ideas and characters and stuff I wasn't very good at it and it was so much harder than I thought. I dont know how you guys do it. It's such an amazing thing to be able to do. Tip of the hat to you sir.

Is it really this good? The previews looked awful. I'm kind of surprised to hear you're enjoying it this much.

We really liked it and everyone else we have spoken with at the previews liked it.

Of course, we paid nothing (besides concessions) to see it three times. Sometimes free movies can seem a bit better than they actually are, but I don't feel that in this case. We would have been just fine paying to see this movie.

It is what it is - a feel-good underdog story for the entire family.

Best ski jumping movie I've ever seen!

It was actually a pretty good film. Felt like an 80s movie. Good score too.

Jackman has definitely mastered the washed-up middle aged redemption character.
