It's likely this will get merged somewhere, but I don't have the patience to check for the existing thread...

...Edge played like a man who wanted a job (somewhere else) next year. I haven't seen him run that hard in a long, long time.

If he played like that all year, TH would be a guy we know almost nothing about.

Edge hasn't changed.

When he hit the holes or got outside yesterday, there were (at long last) holes to run through.

Props to his blockers. Props to the coaches for putting him in and calling his numbers. Props to Edge for delivering when given the chance.

I'm not much for predictions, but I believe we're going to need Edge if we're to make a dent in the playoff picture.

Yup! The Fox announcers made the point yesterday of how few Cardinals have playoff experience. It pretty much starts and ends with Kurt, Edge, and a couple of guys picked up from Pittsburgh.

Hey, I heard Jereheme Urban on the postgame show yesterday wax on about his playoff experience. Did you know this will be his fifth trip to the playoffs in 6 seasons? The guy is just nails when it comes to the playoffs.

Edge always plays hard, tired of hearing this crap. He was benched by Wiz for missing a practice. As you all can now see TH didn't do squat behind this line, which is the main reason our run game sucks most of the time. Its not like Edge was out there just falling down he has always been professional and ran hard for this team, don't make it out like he was not trying. The guy is a true professional and kept himself in shape and ready to go even though he was on the bench for a couple of months. Its just too bad Wiz needed to see the team get throttled a bunch of times before he brought him back into the mix.

Edge is contracted to play for Arizona next season...

I don't think AZ will simply outright release him.

My 12 year old son pointed out this same thing.

Oh... I think he will be released. It's the last year of his contract and we need the 5 million he'd be paid, and can find a cheaper third back (draft?) to team with Hightower and JJ.

We don't need a cheap back we need a legit RB! If this team decides to go with JJ and TH and some cheap back as you say we are screwed yet again. They need to get a legit back if you have too trade Q to get one!

So you are saying that the Cardinals need a 3rd back to compliment Hightower and JJ? Hahaha. Wow. If and only if they release Edge they need a featured back. I still cannot fathom how some belive Hightower is capable of being a featured back. JJ could be, but of course the Whiz and his infinite knowledge refuses to use him out of base packages because he is so damn smart that he made JJ inactive for four weeks and also took him off kick return duties a week after he ran one back to the house. Whiz is so damn smart that he used a "package" of alternating quarterbacks in 2007 similar to Mount Union Comminity College of Omaha. JJ could be the guy, but because of Whiz and his smarts there will be no way to know so it needs to be either Edge or a high draft pick. Let's drop the notion of Hightower being the guy, now or ever.

There is always a feel good underdog story. The guy has shown some flashes, but he is a Marcel Shipp on his best day and that might be slighting Marcel. The team needs an ass kicker back.

FYI: Cheap and cheaper don't mean the same thing.

Finding a so called "legit' backs are what the draft is all about, and / or taking chances on free agent backups who still have the legs for the job.

And, please get over you're "trade of Boldin for a back jag".

The chances of that happening are slim and none... and slim left town.

I never suggested that the back who replaces Edge couldn't be the feature back. The question is where you find one. Draft? Free Agency?

Given who is presently available in Free Agency or the draft crap shoot... it will be a CHEAPER alternative to Edge.

If you think there is not a chance of Boldin being traded I am not sure what to say. There is a very good chance Boldin will not be here next year and if your going to trade him why not try to pick up a back and some picks instead of just picks. Why don't you get off your cut Edge and "get a cheap back to pair with TH and JJ jag"!

Again, the distinction between cheap and cheaper is lost on you.

And, give us one piece of evidence from Cards management that indicates that they are considering trading Boldin. Just ONE statement.

TH tore up the Rams... Edge tore up the Hawks... Big deal... :bang:

We beat up two of the worst teams in the NFL. Yea!

I pull nothing from these wins. There is nothing to support that Edge or TH or our o-line can be consistently effective simply by beating up on piss-poor PAC-10 teams...

^We know cheese Edge is done right? TH was running against pathetic teams and STILL not succeeding so whats your point 82? Ok one more time for the people that didn't listen 2 months ago, EDGE does something unique, he rarely if ever puts the offense in a hole, so he helps a passing offense tremendously as the down & distance is usually MUCH more favorable with him running the ball. Honestly is like some of you don't watch them play or something 3rd and 3 is much better than 3rd & 10 or longer. And the D actually has to respect that we could run in those shorter yardage situations, but I guess that means nothing right? I said it 2 months ago and I will say it again EDGE at RB this teams offense runs much more efficiently and is more successful! Oh and Cheese I think if you watched Sunday you can see he is not DONE like you and others have decided.

With the worst running attack in the NL the Cards are not going to war next year with the same group of RB/s. Count on that. Edge could be released due to age and money. He is past his prime and though he came with a very strong game Sunday he was well rested while our other RB/s are not 100%. A RB could be our #1 pick next year if we do not sign a FA RB of which there are few as most teams now want two starting RB's to keep them fresh. Will be interesting to see how this develops. Does anyone think Hightower or Arrington is an every down RB in this league?
