Why not start Howard Eisley instead of Barbosa? He is more of a point gaurd than Barbosa, and has more experience.

The only way Barbosa can become a better PG and more experienced is to get plenty of PT.

Barbosa plays more of the up tempo style D'Antoni likes. Eisley seems a bit more comfortable in a set offense like what the Malone Jazz ran than running fast breaks. Also Barbosa is inclined to generate more steals with his quickness.

None the less, I think this is an attempt to give Barbosa as much experience as he can handle. His game against Seattle was quite strong in 21 minutes: 6 of 12 shooting, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot and NO TURNOVERS.

Hopefully Eisley will be gone next year, besides we need to play/start Barbosa for game experience the rest of the year...we are not making the playoffs, so pay Barbosa as much as possible. He is getting alot better at reading the defenses, and finding his peers on the court for open shots.

Howard Eiseley had a nice game, but the team was arguably better with Barbosa running the point. I don't think anything positive would come from starting Howard Eiseley. The last thing they want to do is shake Barbosa's confidence at this point.

Agreed I like starting Barbosa for his quickness and defense to start the game.

I like Eisley coming in when they run more of a half court set.

Eisley does a good job using his strength to bump people off to create space. I wonder where he learned that. :p

i have got to go with joe hear. the team looks a lot better with barbosa on the floor right now then eisley. mainly because when we have barbosa out there the ball goes where it should and not to eisley wanting to be the one man show.

I don't think Howard Eiseley is all THAT bad as a backup point guard if you can forget about his price tag. However he will go through stretches where he is extremely frustrating. I think he runs an offense much like Marbury without anywhere near the talent. He dominates the ball. Barbosa does not usually break down half-court defenses, but he is much, much better at pushing the ball and getting quicker, better shots for the offense.

I agree. But assuming we will have Howard to kick around for the next two seasons, it is important that he learns how to run this team. He is certainly getting better, but he has a long way to go.

Howard Eisley is just Howard Eisley.....:|

I suggest people get over his salary and focus on what he can bring to the team. That said when he takes bad shots or dribbles the ball to much he should be called out for it.

He went 0 for 8 against the Kings. While he had 4 assists, his shooting was awful and he did not run the team that well.
