well the national medias are seeing it too - the offense is 100% different when he is in there. Ellington is likely our pure starter next eyar, who knows whatll happen this year.

This is starting to become baffling. Mendy played "extremely well"? Come on Coach. That's almost as dumb as Levi is elite

I appreciate loyalty as much as anyone else, trust me, but not when that loyalty is coupled with an inability to take responsibility for a poor choice (a very common character trait in most coaches).

Mendenhall is not the back that Arians envisioned, and it's painfully obvious that the offensive is less effective with him in the lineup. It's time to stop letting him "work it out" on the field.

In an interview with Bickley yesterday, BA actually said that Sunday was Mendy's "best game of the season"!!

I honestly don't know what to make of BA's support of Mendenhall... Somehow, BA has earned the respect and trust (or so it seems) of the team. And yet, he continues to say this type of crap about Mendy and continues to start him. I just don't get it... :doi:

he continually makes excuses for the guys (Mendy, Palmer) that he brought in to start for his offense (while having no problem blaming Fitz, Floyd, Roberts, Housler, Levi for the offenses problems), which has been woeful for the most part. Pride's getting in the way of making this offense better...maybe not a ton better, but better. Get Ellington another 5 touches per game. Get Taylor a couple touches. The problem with that is it essentially puts Mendy on the bench...and then you have a benched running back who doesn't even play special teams, which means he's useless out there on gameday and BA's pride is getting in the way of realizing that's what Mendy basically is out there...useless.

and when 13 for 42 with a huge fumble inside your own 5 yard line nursing a lead with 5 minutes left = your "best game of the season", it's time to go to someone else. That comment is laughable.

What do you expect the coach to say - that Mendy sucks? He won't even be on the team next year so who cares if he "starts"? Rest assured Ellington will get his touches.

I mostly agree with that, but my issue is when MendenFall was in the game and not how much. We needed to score to give us some breathing room and then run the clock down and that is when you need your playmaker. MedenFall fell and stalled the drive and then later fumbled where Ellington could have kept those drives alive and that game would not have been so close. I could care less is he wants to give Ellington a series off in non critical stages of the game. Ellington needs to close the win and start to get us off and running.

Basically true, but Mendy's not going anywhere this season and still might be useful and BA almost has to defend him.

And I get that too. We have also learned that what BA says cannot be taken seriously in any way shape or form.

No he doesn't. Why does he HAVE to? You bench him like every other under performing player should. All you do is make your self look like a Bafoon!

We don't need him today he sucks. But calling that 3 yards and a cloud of dust and a crucial fumble his best game is beyond laughable.

no...I don't expect him to say Mendy sucks, but i also don't expect him to blow smoke up our asses and call it his best game and relieve him of having a crucial/awful fumble.

He won't even be on the team next year so who cares if he "starts"? Rest assured Ellington will get his touches.

I care that he "starts" because a) it means the offense is hampered right off the bat (which it was when he did nothing on his first two runs and we went 3 and out) and b) because the "starter" got more touches then Ellington and I'm betting his snap count was higher as well.

as to your comment "rest assured he'll get his touches"? people said this last week before the game, he didn't get the same amount of touches and then you say it again? and it's not even just about "touches". it's about what having Ellington on the field means for the entire offense and the opposing defense, even when he's not getting the ball. He has to be accounted for, which opens the offense up.

Well played. Advantage jmt.

lol...advantage how? how does what Shane thought earlier in the season pertain to the discussion at hand about Mendy? oh yeah...it doesn't. it's just a deflection. a somewhat funny one, but a deflection nonetheless.

Isn't it buffoon, or perhaps in this case BAfoon? Whatever, Mendy sucks but he ain't going anywhere and I maintain he still may contribute, so why pile on?
