Epic Movie

Release Date: January 26, 2007
Studio: 20th Century Fox
Director: Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer
Screenwriter: Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer
Genre: Comedy
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for crude and sexual humor, language and some comic violence)
Website: Epic Movie | MySpace.com/EpicMovie

Plot Summary: "Epic Movie" is a movie of, well, epic proportions... we measured. The story centers on four not-so-young orphans: one raised by a curator at the Louvre (where an albino assassin lurks), another a refugee from Mexican "libre" wrestling, the third a recent victim of snakes on her plane, and the fourth a "normal" resident of a mutant "X"-community. The hapless quartet visits a chocolate factory, where they stumble into an enchanted wardrobe that transports them to the land of Gnarnia (with a "G"). There they meet a flamboyant pirate captain and earnest students of wizardry – and join forces with, among others, a wise-but-horny lion to defeat the evil White Bitch of Gnarnia.

I recently watched this one. Wow, this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen (and I usually enjoy spoof movies). It's definitely worthy of its #46 ranking on IMDB's bottom 100 (current rating is 2.3). Hopefully I'm the only one around here that actually watched this turd.

Was it worse then Date Movie? Because that to date is one of the worst spoof movies I have ever seen.

I was one of the few that thought it was pretty decent. A bit better than Date Movie I think.

fixed that for you.

One of the worst movies that I have ever seen. And I like to watch bad movies.

seriously - it was a rainy day in LA and my friends and I decided there was nothing to do but get as high as possible and see this - not only did all the dope in the world NOT make this movie make us giggle in the slightest, it actually had the opposite effect, making us violently upset, as we commenced punching each other throughout as if to punish ourselves for subjecting us to the horror that was the movie.

I thought it was average. It gave me some laughs, I liked it. Better than Date Movie and Scary Movie 4 imo...

that ain't saying a whole lot. Nasser, you're pretty young, right? Still in or just out of high school? You want GREAT spoofs, check these out:

Blazing Saddles
History of the World
Spaceballs
Airplane
Naked Gun
Amazon Women On The Moon
Top Secret

THOSE are legit spoofs that actually lampoon the genre they're trying to! not some pathetic excuse for a movie that's literally just a mishmash of bad sketches based on other movies, some of which have NOTHING to do with the genre.

I loved Spaceballs and Airplane. I saw part of History of the World and that was good too, not as good as the others though. I didn't say Epic Movie was great or anything, but I thought it was pretty funny and not as terrible a movie as people say...I think terrible was SM4 and Date Movie was worse too. I can see why you guys would hate it though after growing up with spoofs like that.

What did you think about Scary Movie 3 though? I really liked that one.

i thought SM 3 was pretty weak. the last really funny spoof that came out was the first Scary Movie -it pulled no punches and didn't half ass on anything. I mean come on - in Epic Movie, for some reason they were spoofing Snakes On A Plane (how that ends up in Epic Movie is beyond me in the first place), but then they watered down the spoof, PG-13ing the R-Rated huge line of Mother-f'n Snakes on M-f'n Plane to damn snakes/damn plane. I mean, that's just the height of stupidity. a GREAT or even GOOD spoof needs to be loving, yet unmerciful in it's send up of the genre and if you can't do that, don't try to kind of do it.

seriously, Date and Epic movie make me sick to my stomach.

Ughh.....My nephew wanted to rent this movie so I watched it with him last night. It was terrible. My nephew liked it but he's 14.

Oh and we also rented the unrated version. I can't imagine watching the pg-13 version.
