I would take him in a heartbeat after our OT woes last year. Winston had a slow start and really came on at the end.

Maybe if he signs a bonus clause to keep his mouth shut.

Guy is overrated.

Why is he looking for a team again ? I think it is because he is not as good on the field as he is in front of a microphone.

Eric Winston is to the tackle position what Daryn Colledge is to the guard position.

pass....

Keep in mind that Eric Winston is a pure zone-blocking OT, and that Andy Reid generally runs man-blocking schemes and likes bigger offensive linemen for his system.

It could just be a poor system fit, especially when there are going to be bigger offensive linemen available in free agency--starting with Andre Smith.

What this really means, aside from all this fantasy, that Joekel is again the #1 pick.

Massie and Levi are the tackles on this team. I could see moving one to guard for a legit draft pick, but not for Winston. Cut twice in two years. Not happening.

BA stated it'll be a zone scheme for our OL.

Winston is an upgrade over the guys we have like it or not.

Said the guy who's works in the front office whose the GM ;)

Pretty sure he said he didn't rule it out. He wants BA to find the best combination of OL.. meaning Brown playing OG is still a possibility if we get someone who can play LT better.

When? When did BA say they were going to a zone scheme. I heard some zone but he is a power running game coach. As he likes to put it "dbl. team, kick out".

Our offense is not from the Shanahan coaching tree. This is the same type of offense Whiz tried to run.

And if Winston is such a good zone blocker then why did Houston get rid of him?

Because they weren't going to pay a right tackle big money when they could pay a running back huge money. :D

Keims exact words were highly unlikely...but I guess every guard we have could get hurt. ;) I would say the chances are 1%

Arians has said repeatedly that he see Levi as a tackle.

I read that Pittsburgh is revamping their offensive line to go to a zone blocking scheme because what Arians and Goodwin were running wasn't working well enough and it is one of the main reasons the Steelers parted ways with Bruce.

Interesting.

Well, I wanted McCoy, and zone blocking when it was time to pick a head coach.

But, it is what it is here in AZ. Our running scheme is not going to change too much.

Hopefully the execution of it will.

Both BA and SK have typically left a little "never say never" wriggle room on their statements about personnel, scheme etc.

Wouldn't rule out Levi to OG, including stretch/zone blocking in the offensive playbook or even a few outlet/screen plays in the offensive play book.

But I do sense a stated bias toward power running, vertical passing and Levi at LT.

It's just that BA (as he's stated) seems to be a fairly flexible dude and you can't rule out anything.
