Auburn begins its quest for its second-straight SEC Tournament championship on Friday when it faces the Ole Miss Rebels at noon CT in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Would a solid showing against the Rebels lock in the top overall seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament?

ESPN's Joe Lunardi updated his "Bracketology" following Thursday's action. Auburn remains the top overall seed in Lunardi's projections despite the shakeup. Auburn joins Duke, Florida, and Houston as projected No. 1 seeds, with the Tigers projected to head up the South regional, where it would play its first two games at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky before traveling to nearby Atlanta, Georgia to play in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 at State Farm Arena.

The latest forecast has Auburn matching up with the winner of a play-in game between SIU-Edwardsville and Jackson State in round one before facing the winner of No. 8 Marquette/No. 9 Baylor in round two. No. 5 Oregon and No. 4 Clemson are likely opponents for Auburn to face in the Sweet 16 while No. 6 Kansas, No. 7 Missouri, No. 3 Texas A&M, and No. 2 Michigan State could await the Tigers in the Elite 8.

The SEC is projected to send 13 teams to the NCAA Tournament, four more than the Big Ten, which has a nine-team projection. Seven of the SEC's 13 projected teams could receive a No. 5 seed or higher. Outside of Auburn and Florida earning No. 1 seeds, Tennessee and Alabama are forecasted to receive a No. 2 seed, Texas A&M and Kentucky are receiving No. 3 seed predictions, and Ole Miss is expected to take a No. 5 seed.

Auburn will look to solidify its dream of being the NCAA Tournament's No. 1 overall seed with a win Friday over Ole Miss. The Tigers and Rebels square off at noon CT on ESPN.
