Cardinals have reduced their going price for Boldin to a 2nd round pic and possibly some other picks later in the draft...possibly to give the Cards also picks they could then use on draft day to put them in postion to draft Moreno from Georgia in a trade with those extra picks to spare...

said the Jets and Giants have dropped out of the talks, and the Eagles and Ravens still have interest

take it for what it is worth

I just saw peter king on tv saying that he has not heard of one team that is lighting up the cardinals phones for boldin. Not just because of the asking price, but the fact that combined with that teams aren't in position to also give him the huge contract he wants.

This is where I call foul. The first part doesnt match the second thing he said. They are willing to accept a 2nd rounder and something later in the draft yet the Jets and Giants still think it is to much??? One thing doesnt match the other.

that has been the big hang up it seems, teams simply can't fit him into their cap space and even if they can...they think his asking price of around 9 million a year is not worth it.

I do not claim 9 million as a fact, just conjecture on it by those reporting

Gomez stated the Cards really like Moreno

Problem with all this is that this really is all speculation by these reporters and I still think Boldin will remain a Cardinal...Gomez stated the obvious and that is that the Cardinals still have Boldin under contract for two years and do not have to do anything which is something we already know

But that's what's erroneous. We haven't set an asking price. Just said that no real serious offer has presented itself , of any kind really. And the asking price may differ between a rival and a non-rival, for obvious reasons. So the media reporting that it's "this", is blatantly false.

Peter King stole his stuff here. I'm sure of it. Hell, between all of us, we've covered every angle of this thing way better than ESPN.

I think the Cardinals value Q for what he gives this team, I think they really are waiting for an opportunity to pay him for what he is worth, and unless the offer is huge for him...they are willing to weather the storm and sign him to an extension as soon as a window to do so provides itself after Dansby and Wilson's contracts for the future get figured out.

I know there is a lot of sour grapes for peter king here, but the guy is right. and he said what most of you have been saying on here. That most teams have not even bothered to light up the cards with offers because they don't want to give up something....plus pay him a fat contract. and on top of that the cards don't want to give him away for nothing. He thinks boldin will stay in AZ, but must decide what he want long term when his contract is up. Either he wants to be a cardinal or he doesn't. That's not exact quote, but close to what he said.

Somebody might be willing to give up a 2nd rounder to rent Boldin for the last two years of his contract with no intention of re-signing him. I'd like to see Rosenhaus spin that one.

ESPN is recording that Boldin will be traded for a used Colostomy Bag and a 7th round pick.

Quick, it needs it's own thread.

I posted in this one first then saw the thread specifically relating to the Titans. I didn't make a new thread for any of them but thanks for being smart A.

ESPN is recording or reporting?

well I started the thread....first I thought the titans made sense. They've been needing a top WR for years now. It makes sense to me, but there is no telling where the cards are at with boldin or any of their contract issues with players....these days. They don't move quick that's for sure.

on top of that the titans are true contender IMO...boldin could sure up that offense in what is lacking most.

Can we put this ESPN cr@p to bed please? Steve Wyche just reported on NFL Network that is nothing going on right now with regard to Q and trade talks. He said the Cardinals are looking for a lot including at least a first-rounder. End of story. ESPN is turning into the National Inquirer.

Q is worth more than a #1 draft pick so let's keep him if that's the way it is going to be. The Cardinals couldn't recoup anything near his value with just a number one pick. Let the other teams sit on their picks. This should not be a fire sale.

Sould we offer Q 9 or even 8 mil a year? I would not. I have seen Larry Fitzgerald and he is no Larry Fitgerald and has some issues now. Mostly caused by himself.

This would be a bad nightmare if we give him away for a second rounder. We should just keep him and let him play out his contract if we want to use the money for AW and Dansby. Of course teams will call now that we've lowered the price. Someone will get the nerve to offer just a 3rd rounder, watch.
