There aren't enough Carson Palmer threads. Definitely need another. :D

The proposed trade sending quarterback Carson Palmer from the Oakland Raiders to the Arizona Cardinals is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours, sources directly involved in the negotiations told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder.
.....
Palmer put up prolific numbers in his first full year as a starter in Oakland, but that led to little success for the team. He completed 61.1 percent of his passes and threw for 4,018 yards in 15 games -- second most ever for the Raiders -- with 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

They didn't want the news to get swept under the rug on Opening Day, so they delayed the deal.

If he doesn't want to be here then don't get him. We need to draft the best qb in next years draft period. If we have to give up every draft pick for the next two years to get it done then do it. We won't have a chance at winning a Superbowl without a good qb. It's time we quit screwing around and get our QB of the future.

Don't underrate the chemistry and body language at dinner. If either party feels the least bit uncomfortable, it could kill the deal.

Conversely, if the 2 sides hit it off from the git go, I think we'll have ourselves a new QB.

I also have no problem renting a starting QB we can win with for a year or two to buy us time to secure and develop a longer term answer.

Adding Palmer does nothing about finding a young QBOF. It only buys us time to find the right one... Once we target him you send what ever it takes to get that pick.

Palmer does let us not need to draft one this year.

Carson makes us a competitive football team next year. They definitely made it more entertaining from a fans perspective, and that's the one I care most about.

Yeah, Keim is true to his word. I doubt we see another 58-0 game this season with the roster he's assembled.

Unfortunately, I don't know if he's really done anything to address that pesky 5-11 figure from last year yet.

I think that is important as this is not a good draft year for qbs. I would hate to have the Cards reach for one. They could also pick one on the later rounds that they feel can be developed and don't need to rush to start. Perhaps someone like Landry jones fits this scenario. He could be there on the 4th round.

You are dead on when you say until we find a real good QB we will win nothing no matter who we draft at any position other than QB. That is a statistical given. So how do you find this elusive QB? By drafting a QB every year from here to eternity.

Palmer would likely be our starter and of course the best of the lot of QBs we have if he should come to AZ.

That is usually very true. But the Cardinals didn't draft Kurt Warner. And they did draft Matt Leinart, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley. ;)

You do realize that Palmer isn't going to come here if he doesn't want to right? He has all the power right now because if he doesn't want to be with the team that the Raiders are trading him to he just has to refuse to restructure with that team and the trade will fall apart.
