Final grades on the 49ers' offseason won't be complete until the 2025 NFL draft concludes. Even then, it'll be tough to gauge until everyone gets a look at San Francisco's rookie class in NFL regular season action.
In the meantime, it's obvious that San Francisco's NFL free agency haul isn't one to write home about. ESPN analyst Ben Solak ranked every NFL team's free agency class and it's not surprising to see the 49ers near the very bottom.
San Francisco checked in with the NFL's No. 30 free agency class, just ahead of Seattle at No. 31 and Atlanta at No. 32. Fellow NFC West squads Los Angeles and Arizona both cracked ESPN's top 13 free agency classes. The Rams ranked No. 2, while the Cardinals earned the No. 13 class.
Among its key acquisitions and returning players, the 49ers re-signed fullback Kyle Juszczyk and defensive tackle Kevin Givens and San Francisco brought in wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, tight end Luke Farrell and quarterback Mac Jones.
Solak shared what he "didn't love" about the 49ers' free agency class.
Solak did love the Robinson signing, though.
Robinson arrives in The Bay after appearing in all 17 games last season with the Rams where he caught 31 passes for 505 yards with a career-high seven touchdown grabs. Since his rookie season, Robinson has had two or more touchdown receptions in every NFL season and the Florida alum has also played in 16 or more games in all of those campaigns.
The 49ers will have their chance to make noise in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. beginning on Thursday, April 24. San Francisco owns 11 selections, including the No. 11 overall pick and four within the top 100.

The fact that the biggest deal the team signed was for Farrell. As evidenced by how much talent left the building this offseason, the 49ers were taking their financial lumps this year and didn't sign any big deals accordingly. There are a couple of low-risk moves I like -- cornerback Tre Brown for $1.7 million from the Seahawks feels like a steal, and Jason Pinnock is also a handy player in the secondary. But they were always going to be a cellar-dwelling team in any free agent rankings -- it's just inevitable that teams endure a cycle like this after a failed push to Super Bowl contention. - Solak, ESPN.
Solak did love the Robinson signing, though.
He is a great WR3/4, as he has the requisite size, athleticism and ball skills to make downfield grabs. He also brings some utility as a blocker. That's all. - Solak, ESPN.
