Plot Summary: Adapted and directed by Dan Rush, and based on a short story by Raymond Carver, "Everything Must Go" tells the story of Nick Porter (Will Ferrell) a career salesman whose days of being on top are long gone. The same day Nick gets fired, for falling off the wagon one last time, he returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their suburban home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard. Faced with his life imploding, Nick puts it all on the line - or more properly, on the lawn - reluctantly holding a yard sale that becomes a unique strategy for survival.

Again, another movie that I thought would be more of a Comedy but ended up being more of a Drama. Interesting movie and not the typical Will Ferrell role. In fact, Ferrell did a fine job with this role. I wouldn't call this a great movie but it was well done and fits the current economic environment. All in all it was just a nicely told story with pretty good acting.

The other cool thing is that it's all set in Phoenix and you can recognize several landmarks throughout the movie.

I guess this isn't a comedy but am I the only one who doesn't think ferrell is very funny?

In short bursts yes but I've never seen a complete one of his movies where I didn't get sick of him, even AnchorMan and Old School by about the 60 minute mark I was bored with him.

I thought that Step Brothers was pretty damn funny the entire movie. However I agree that AnchorMan and Old School got old fast.

I *want* to see this, I'm just afraid it will hit too close to home & stir up some baaad memories. I heard Will Ferrell did a really good job.

I didn't even make it halfway through that one.

I did like elf though come to think of it.
