The Minnesota Golden Gophers stayed within their university's lineage with the recent hiring of former Colorado State Rams coach Niko Medved to lead their basketball program, a development that brought out messages of congratulations from across the basketball world.
Recently, one of Medved's most talented and celebrated former players, David Roddy, who has been rumored to be signing with the Houston Rockets, shared his thoughts on Medved's hiring with the school he previously graduated from as a student.
Roddy couldn't contain his emotion as he shared his sincere, frank thoughts on social media.

"Thank you for making me a better basketball player, but most importantly, a better young man," Roddy said in an X post.
"I am so excited about this new opportunity for you and all Minnesotans should as well.
"Still Rams forever."
Roddy has averaged 6.2 points in 165 games with Memphis, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, and is rumored to be headed to the Houston Rockets next.
His former coach's Golden Gophers have plenty of ground to make up in the Big Ten with Medved expected to lead the program next year.
Minnesota finished 7-13 in the Big Ten, tied for third from the bottom of the league with the USC Trojans.
Only the Washington Huskies and Penn State Nittany Lions had worse records in the league as the Minneapolis based program once again struck out on its NCAA Tournament ambitions.
