2.5 Sacks, 2 FF as a backup?

Winner?

I can dig that!

Pats really like him too:

From the Patriots’ perspective, losing Wright would be a blow, as he often came onto the field on third down and was a fill-in starter groomed in the team’s system. The question from the team's side seems to be: “Can we afford a potential $3-4 million per year deal and address other areas of need?”

YES. This has to be done. And yes I do like him Rugby, in my top 3 of realistic free agents I wanted us to sign.

Sounds like a guy who could provide some solid depth and maybe even push CC at one end spot? Does he have that much talent?

he looked like an all-Pro vs the Cardinals this past season

of course, so did the rest of the Pats roster that day

He would make CC continue to be a rotational guy, beucase Wright would start IMO. Still means a lot of playing time though.

you know -- signing him to a $3.5 mm per year deal would really take the sting out of losing A Smith.

He sounds like another Antonio Smith but at half the price.

He kinda reminds me of Vanden Bosch only without the injuries and quickness but has much more power.

I love the fact that we are even looking at this guy,, it follows on from last year, a particular type of player, one that will fit in, one with character, work ethic, and all those other intangibles. Someone for whom his current team does not want to lose but accepts that the price to keep him is going to be too high when factored in agasint all their other needs.

A good solid addition to the team if it can be done.

Totally agree, Joe. This kid is strong and slippery. Has a nose for the ball. May even prove to be more consistent than Antonio Smith.

The guy seems to have desire, something to prove, a great motor, & comes from a great system. All things we should be looking for. This could be a great move if we're able to swing it.

He better not leave without a contract.

If signed it would gives us the ability or the luxury to put the Front uglies on D completely out of our minds the rest of the offseason and the draft.
