The Atlanta Falcons are signing veteran defensive lineman Morgan Fox to a two-year, $8.5 million contract, the NFL Network reported on Friday afternoon. Fox, 30, spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, recording 15.5 sacks in 51 games with 19 starts.

Over eight NFL seasons, the former undrafted free agent has racked up 27.5 sacks, 51 QB hits and 33 tackles for loss over 120 career games (34 starts). His best season came in 2022 when he started 12 games and recorded 6.5 sacks for the Chargers. Fox previously played for the Carolina Panthers (2021) and Los Angeles Rams (2016-2020).

With Fox, the Falcons are getting a quality rotational defensive lineman who can play multiple spots up front and start if necessary. The team already signed EDGE Leonard Floyd in free agency. Adding Fox can help mitigate the loss of Pro Bowl defensive lineman Grady Jarrett.
