So now the question is how much negotiating space does he have with his Cardinal contract. I know the total amount is slotted, however can they get into a pissing contest on guaranteed amount or value of contract for each year, etc.

This apparently is the wiggle room.
No. 4: $34.54 million (Spotrac) | $35.37 million (Over The Cap)

The first round last year all got 100% guaranteed deal, well at least the 20 players I checked did. Here is Will Anderson from last year since he was the first non QB to go.

Will Anderson signed a 4 year , $35,212,827 contract with the Houston Texans, including $22,609,328 signing bonus, $35,212,827 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,803,207. In 2024, Anderson will earn a base salary of $915,000 and a roster bonus of $1,435,853, while carrying a cap hit of $8,003,185 and a dead cap value of $28,810,494.

Shouldn't be an issue.

Number 26 last year all got 100% guaranteed last year too. I went with him over #27 since Mazi is a DT.

Mazi Smith signed a 4 year , $13,274,696 contract with the Dallas Cowboys, including $6,654,324 signing bonus, $13,274,696 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $3,318,674. In 2024, Smith will earn a base salary of $1,353,395, while carrying a cap hit of $3,016,976 and a dead cap value of $10,861,115.

I mean, it's not a big deal, but it's an unnecessary distraction.

And you don't want that kind of negative publicity around a player who's supposed to develop into one of the leaders on the team.

Again, not a big deal, and it will all probably be forgotten soon enough. Hopefully.

All first round contracts are fully guaranteed... the wiggle room is really only in exactly when they collect certain checks
