I am in a 10-team Roto-league, and am in 2nd place. I rock in every category, but have 2-points in three-points, steals, turnovers and 6-points in FT%.

Obviously, I need help majorly in threes and turnovers.

I have Kevin Garnett, and I think I can pull off a trade for Peja. Peja is second in the league in 3's, and HUGE in FT% and points.

Trading Garnett wont lose me any points, but i drop off in blocks, rebounds and assists.

However, I also lead the league in Points and Rebounds, plus am 2nd in assists. So I think I can give that up to get improvement in other areas.

The question is: Do you trade Garnett for Peja, or is that like incredibly stupid?

I always hear that you just don't trade Garnett...but I think this will end up helping me.

Thoughts?

I would not trade Garnett doesn't he also lead his team in assist? I would ask not only for Pega but at least one other player to upgrade your team.

Right, he does, but like I said, this is a Roto league, and I have 9-points in assists, and need to improve in other areas. The only way I'm getting Peja is with Garnett.

I lose assists, rebounds and blocks, but i have high points in all those areas.

And I gain 3's, FT% and turnovers, all of which I suck in.

If you can pry someone else in addition to Peja, it might be worth looking into. But Garnett for Peja? I don't know. The question is what do you GAIN with Peja--I mean overall. Is Peja a better point producer than KG? If so, then trade. If not, then don't. If they are equal, then there is no reason to trade in the first place.

This is part of the reason that it called "fantasy".

It is too bad there is not a category for playing defense (steals and blocks are deceptive because it often means the player gambles a lot).

Hey guys, an updated on this:

I traded Garnett/Pau Gasol for Peja and Mobley...the result?

From 4th to 1st in about 3 weeks...been holding first, but the guy I traded with moved from 5th to 2nd, and we're just battling down the stretch.

Anyways, it proved to be a huge trade for me, that, and the playof Gilbert Arenas the last month or two before he hurt his ankle again.
