Just wondering what everyone's favorite holiday movies are.

I would have to say Wonderful Life is my #1. Just a great story, I can't wait to watch it every year.

Some of my other favorites:

Christmas Story
White Christmas
Christmas Vacation (of course)

I think for a movie to be considered a holiday movie, the central plot must be about the holidays, not just take place during Christmas (Like Die hard). Then I was thinking.....Its a Wonderful Life really has nothing to do with Christmas...it just takes place during X-mas (if you really think about it)

So Die Hard is allowed in on the IAWL (its a wonderful life) clause

Silent Night, Deadly Night. Just kidding. The Fat Albert X-Mas Special! Albert and the Cosby Crew help out the brother man, who is being held down by the other man...

Those "cheesy" Christmas movies that were on MST3K......

Other than that, definitely Christmas Story and Charlie Brown Christmas.....

Is Charlie Brown Christmas considered a "movie"? If so, you can't avoid mentioning the originals--Rudolph, Grinch and Frosty. :D

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (old animated version)

Rudolph (Claymation, the one with Yukon Cornelius, The Snow Monster, Hermey the elf who wants to be a dentist, and the Isle of Misfit Toys, absolutely classic!)

Miracle on 34th St. (1947) is my favorite classic Christmas movie by far.

More recently A Christmas Story and Scrooged are pretty good.

I also really liked The Santa Clause.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles... that's a good one that i wouldn't immediately think of as a holiday film but it absolutely belongs up there.

Scrooged and A Christmas Story are watchable any time they're on TV.
