We've got a long way to go. We're going to need a lot of offense in the NFL in 2019 and likely beyond. With a slew of young QB's, many of them performing decently to amazing added to the staple list of good to greats, it's a high scoring man's league.
We've scored 37 points after four weeks.
12 teams have scored over 100 (8 >110). Tops is 140. (still have MNF with Chiefs which could end up topping that)
7 more teams are between 90-99.
5 more between 80-89.
3 teams that are below 80 have only played 3 games (byes or MNF) and are in the 60's or 70's.
The other 31 teams have scored 2943 points on 120 offenses outputs in 60 total games.
Taking us out of the equation, the rest of the NFL is averaging 24.5 PPG.
With us the league is average 24.0 PPG which when compared against the #1 scoring year, is .6 PPG higher than the #1 year 2013 (23.4). 2nd place is 1965 with 23.1. 3rd place 22.9 in 1959. 4th and 5th place 22.8 in 2015 and 2012.
Granted 4 weeks isn't alot, and things can change, but we're at a huge deficit. Rams are already >100 points scored over us. Chiefs will likely join them after tonight if they score 20 points which would bring them to 138.
As of now five teams are averaging > 30 points, 2 > 35, 1 @ 34.3, and one of those over 35 (through 3 games) is at 39.3.
Only four other teams besides us are averaging under 20 points, and we're under 10 (9.3).
But as of now, with their 3 versus our 4 games, the Chiefs are exactly averaging 30 more points per game than us 39.3 vs 9.3.
Our offense is so behind anyone else its unreal. McCoy needs to open it up more for Rosen beyond even last game, and guys need to catch the ball.
Broncos had him for 11 games last year before being fired.
They scored 183 points for 16.6 PPG. Skewed by one 42 points performance. He also was shutout in a game.
McCoy has lost his last 10 games as offensive coordinator.
If he can't do it, when we switch coaches OC/HC/whatever, we need an creative and innovative offensive mind directing our offense.
