This is a daily list of top performers from Springfield-area high school sports teams for March 17-22, compiled from information provided to The State Journal-Register by coaches, athletic directors and team statisticians.

Chatham Glenwood 6, Springfield High (co-op) 1
Twin sisters Sydney and Sophia Feld each cranked out a solo home run to lift Chatham Glenwood to a Central State Eight Conference opening win at Lawless Park.
The Titans (6-0, 1-0 CS8) scored three runs in the second inning beginning with Sydney’s home run to center field. Sophia later homered to right field in the fifth for a 5-1 lead.
Sydney finished with two hits and two RBIs. Ava Bobb also homered in the third inning, while Hope Gilmore had two hits, including a double.
Junior pitcher Irie Lohrenz recorded the win with 11 strikeouts in a complete game. She gave up one run on six hits and three walks.
Springfield High’s Mia Volpert took the loss despite 17 strikeouts. She also delivered a solo home run in the third.
Aubrey Crispen, Athens: The center fielder went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs in Athens’ 11-8 win at Delavan. Kenzie Szoke had three hits with a double and scored a run.
Lexi Patton/Audrey Cooper, Buffalo Tri-City: The Tornadoes’ pair each had three hits as Tri-City beat Nokomis 10-4. Tri-City pitcher Lily Woodworth got the win. She allowed four runs on five hits, five walks and struck out four.
Briley Kirby/Lainey Lessman, Hillsboro: Kirby hit the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Hiltoppers a 5-4 walk-off win against Taylorville. Kirby was 4-for-4. Lainey Lessman pitched four innings of scoreless relief to get the win. She struck out six, allowed three hits and no walks.
Hallie Gibson, Carlinville: The Cavaliers’ pitcher struck out 10 against three runs, two hits and one walk in five innings as Carlinville beat Pawnee 14-3 in five innings.
Ava Rodriguez, Pawnee: The slugger belted a home run in Pawnee’s 14-3, five-inning loss to Carlinville.
Felicity Keller, Sacred Heart-Griffin: She went 3-for-3 with a double and drove in a run as the Cyclones beat Decatur Eisenhower 15-0 in four innings. Ella Selinger struck out nine in four scoreless innings for the win.
Peyton Purves/Kendall Edmonson/Mylie Deatherage, Rochester: Purves and Edmonson walloped two home runs apiece and Deatherage threw a four-inning perfect game as the Rockets defeated Jacksonville 21-0. Purves and Edmonson both finished 3-for-3 with six RBIs each. Deatherage struck out nine and faced the minimum of 12 batters.
Madisen Wurth, Lincoln: Wurth tossed a two-hit shutout in Lincoln’s 10-0, five-inning win over Tremont. She struck out eight and walked one, while teammate Kelsey Martin finished 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Lilly Bandy, Staunton: She went 3-for-4 with a home run in the first inning to help Staunton beat Jerseyville 7-3.
Jenna Matli/Audrey Germann, Raymond Lincolnwood: Matli had a run-scoring single and Germann hit a solo home run in the Lancers’ three-run fifth inning of a 5-4 victory over Greenville. Matli finished with two RBIs.
Taylor Patterson, Auburn: Patterson knocked in two runs with a triple and the Trojans scored five runs in the fifth inning to defeat Pana 5-3. Winning pitcher Meena Taylor threw a complete game, striking out 10, walking three and allowing seven hits and one earned run.
Chatham Glenwood 1, Springfield High 0
Cameron Appenzeller drove in the only run of the game in the bottom of the third inning and two Glenwood pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout to record a home victory.
With two outs in the third, Joe Anderson singled and went to second on an error. Appenzeller then hit an RBI double to center field to bring Anderson home.
That was enough for winning pitcher Quinten Hale and reliever Andrew Wahlbrink. Hale struck out four, walked three and limited Springfield to one hit in four innings. Wahlbrink fanned three, walked zero and yielded one hit over the final three innings.
Brody Scheffler was the tough luck loser for the Senators. He struck out 12, walked one and gave up just three hits and one unearned run in six innings. Wade Snyder and Liam Watts each had a hit for Springfield.
Davis Ishmael, Athens: He struck out 15 in a complete game effort to lead Athens past Delavan 2-1. Ishmael walked one and allowed one earned run on six hits. Josh Harris’ RBI single in the fifth inning added an insurance run for Athens.
Logan Tuetken/Carter Legendre, Staunton: Tuetken hit a grand slam and Legendre smacked a three-run homer in Staunton’s nine-run second inning of a 14-2, five-inning win at Auburn. Tuetken and Legendre both finished with two hits and four RBIs apiece.
Collin Grosenheider, Williamsville: He went 2-for-5 with three RBIs as Williamsville downed Pana 11-5 in a nonconference meeting. Peyton Casson and Brayden Saling also had two hits apiece for the Bullets.
Charlie Severino, Pleasant Plains: Severino drove in four runs and was 3-for-3 with a double as Pleasant Plains topped Pittsfield 10-0 in five innings.
Tannar Riddell, Beardstown: The winning pitcher struck out seven and allowed just three hits in five scoreless innings and Beardstown defeated Mendon Unity 3-2. Riddell and Parker Bell both had an RBI sacrifice fly and Colby Desollar supplied an RBI single in Beardstown’s three-run first inning.
Noah Convery, Carlinville: He hit a solo home run in Carlinville’s 9-3 home loss to Jerseyville.
Quinn Morrow/Camden Earley, North Mac: The pitcher struck out 10 and allowed one run on four hits and a walk in a complete-game 3-1 win over Carrollton. Earley led the Panthers’ batters with two hits and an RBI.
Breck Calvert/Jorey Myren, Rochester: Calvert picked up the victory with four shutout innings as the Rockets beat Jacksonville 9-1. He struck out four, walked three and gave up two hits. Myren led the Rockets’ hitters with a 3-for-3 day while Gibson Warren doubled twice and Ajay Runkel homered.
Colton Gatton/Jacob McWard, Taylorville: Gatton allowed one hit over four innings to help Taylorville beat Argenta-Oreana 14-0 in a five-inning nonconference game. Gatton struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter. McWard drove in three runs with a double in the first inning.
Aaron Volle, Mount Pulaski: The Hilltoppers’ starting pitcher allowed two unearned runs on one hit and one walk over four innings as Mount Pulaski beat Pontiac 8-3. Volle, who struck out four, also had two hits and two RBIs.
Drake Taylor, Nokomis: He struck out 10 over six innings to lead Nokomis past Buffalo Tri-City 8-3.
Max Leitschuh, Litchfield: He struck out 13 in a two-hit, complete-game shutout as Litchfield beat Raymond Lincolnwood 7-0. He allowed one walk and Leitschuh led the Purple Panthers with three hits, two RBIs and three runs scored at the plate.
Austin Lucas/Drew Hayes, Lincoln: The Railsplitters Nos. 2-3 hitters each had a pair of hits, one RBI and one run scored as Lincoln downed Southeast 5-3. Karson Komnick allowed one run on six hits over three innings for the win.
Sam Long/Brady Turner, Jacksonville Routt: Long had three hits and an RBI while Turner went 2-for-5 with two RBIs as Routt topped Mount Sterling Brown County 10-5.
Carter Morrell, Pawnee: The second baseman went 2-for-3 with a double, scored twice and drove in four runs in Pawnee’s 23-7 win over Bunker Hill in five innings. Carson Wort (2-for-3, three runs) finished with three RBIs.
Taylor Offer/Mary Jane Keller, Rochester: Offer scored three goals and Keller added two as the Rockets recorded an 8-1 win over Lincoln.
Stevi Fuess, Riverton: Fuess scored the only goal on an assist from Jordyn Durham at the 39th minute of the first half and Riverton defeated Warrensburg-Latham 1-0.
Rylann Law/Leah Bolletta, Chatham Glenwood: Law scored in the opening minute of the second half to break a scoreless tie and Bolletta added the insurance goal in a 2-0 Central State Eight Conference win over Sacred Heart-Griffin.
Bailey Leach/Willa Ozyurt, Pleasant Plains: Leach and Ozyurt each scored two goals in a 9-0 win over Lutheran.
Jordyn Loveless, Carlinville: She had three goals in the Cavaliers' 6-0 win over Auburn. Mylee Ribble had a goal and two assists for Carlinville.
Auburn 4, Greenfield 3
Brady Boylen singled to left field with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Trojans rallied from three runs down to win on a walk-off.
Peyton Campbell (3-for-4, two runs) scored the game-winner after he led off the seventh with a single and stole second to get into scoring position for Boylen.
Auburn (5-1) trailed 3-0 and tied the game with three runs in the fifth. Campbell and Cash Dvorak (2-for-4) scored on an error when Boylen hit a grounder to third and Evan Kessler scored on a wild pitch to even the score.
Tyler Brown was the winning pitcher in relief. Brown fanned three, walked one and limited Greenfield to three hits and no runs in three innings of work.
Nash Donnan/Barrett Morse, Petersburg PORTA: Donnan (2-for-4, four RBIs) hit a three-run double in the first inning and Morse finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead PORTA past Jacksonville 9-4.
Reese Bohlen, Staunton: The starting pitcher struck out 16 and threw a one-hit shutout as Staunton beat Hillsboro 6-0. Bohlen walked just two batters and Drake Billings went 2-for-4 and drove in a run.
Gage Gedaminski, Lutheran: The center fielder had a couple of hits with a double and three RBIs as unbeaten Lutheran (3-0) downed Edinburg 7-3. Winning pitcher Caleb Cox and reliever Wady Naylor combined for 15 strikeouts. Naylor went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
Tyler Meyer, Riverton: The third baseman had a pair of doubles and finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs in Riverton’s 10-1 victory at Macon Meridian. Jaden Rivelli supplied two hits with a double and three RBIs and winning pitcher Braden Eiskant struck out seven and yielded four hits and no earned runs in six innings.
Jace Lautemann, Jacksonville Routt: The leadoff hitter went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs as Routt scored six runs in the sixth inning to rally past New Berlin 16-10. Eli Olson had three hits and Dalton Brown finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ethan Heller, Beardstown: The catcher went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs as Beardstown beat Rushville-Industry 15-1 in five innings. Zach Desollar and Tannar Riddell had two hits apiece and combined for five runs.
Jack Kaylor, Gillespie: The left fielder collected two hits and three RBIs in Gillespie’s 12-1, five-inning win over Metro-East Lutheran. Carson Hailstone doubled and drove in three runs.
Meena Taylor, Auburn: The pitcher struck out 12 batters, walked zero and tossed a three-hit shutout in Auburn’s 4-0 victory over Hillsboro. She supported herself at the plate by going 3-for-3 with an RBI double and run-scoring single. Freshman Giada Sinclair added a two-run double in the first inning.
Kenzie Law, Jacksonville: The winning pitcher threw a complete game, striking out two and walking four in the Crimsons’ 11-2 home win over Macomb. Law allowed four hits and no earned runs and Chase Niece, Maci Moore and Alyvia Woods each had two hits and an RBI apiece.
Laurynn Mayberry/Regan Kutz, Lincoln: Mayberry went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and three RBIs and Kutz had two hits with a double and three RBIs as Lincoln knocked off Morton 15-5 in five innings. Grey Gilbert scored three times and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two steals.
Shelby Ashcraft, Pana: The shortstop belted two home runs and finished 3-for-3 with runs and three RBIs in Pana’s 11-2 win at Raymond Lincolnwood. Joey Laker pitched a complete game with four strikeouts, no walks and one earned run on seven hits.
Kylynn Maltby/Vanessa Nunez, Beardstown: Maltby and Nunez both homered and finished with three RBIs apiece as Beardstown blanked Mendon Unity 17-0 in four innings. Bella Palmer went 3-for-3 with three runs and Autumn Bowman (2-for-2, three runs) drove in three.
Lexi Patton/Audrey Cooper, Buffalo Tri-City: Patton and Cooper both had run-scoring doubles and Tri-City edged Athens 5-4. Tiffany Farley doubled and scored twice and winning pitcher Lily Woodworth struck out nine and threw six innings for the win.
Ava Parish, Gillespie: The shortstop went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Gillespie defeated Metro-East Lutheran 15-0 in four innings. Sadie Sholtis and Ava Rakers added three hits each, two RBIs and two runs apiece.
Elliot Hood, Rushville-Industry: The second baseman collected two hits and knocked in three runs in the Rockets’ 18-3, four-inning victory over Augusta Southeastern. Devin Vogler went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Ella Greer, Williamsville: The catcher went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, but Williamsville gave up four runs in the top of the seventh inning and lost to Normal U-High 7-5.
Kylie Teimeyer, Petersburg PORTA: The first baseman singled and drove in two runs in PORTA’s 14-4, six-inning loss at Concord Triopia.
Izzy Janus, Staunton: The sophomore had a hit and an RBI in Staunton’s 5-1 loss to Carrollton.
Diana Huerta, Beardstown: The junior won three events to help the Tigers finish third in an eight-team home meet. In the 100-meter dash, she beat out Havana freshman Evy Smith by 0.1 seconds and finished in 0:12.7. She won the 200 dash in 26.9 seconds and took the triple jump with an effort of 31-feet, 5 ½ inches.
Millie Schumacher, Jacksonville Routt: The freshman won the 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 2.5 seconds and the 800 run in 2:30.2 in the eight-team Beardstown meet. She was also the 1,600 runner-up in 6:32.7.
Evy Smith, Havana: The Ducks’ freshman swept both hurdles events of the eight-team Beardstown meet, finishing the 100-high hurdles in 16.3 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 51.5. She also missed a third first-place finish by 0.1 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Jay Smith, Pleasant Plains: The senior goalkeeper provided the shutout in a 3-0 win over Jacksonville. Caroline Willenborg, Ro Fraase and Bailey Leach each delivered a goal.

Jaden Rivelli supplied two hits with a double and three RBIs and winning pitcher Braden Eiskant struck out seven and yielded four hits and no earned runs in six innings.
Jace Lautemann, Jacksonville Routt: The leadoff hitter went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs as Routt scored six runs in the sixth inning to rally past New Berlin 16-10. Eli Olson had three hits and Dalton Brown finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ethan Heller, Beardstown: The catcher went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs as Beardstown beat Rushville-Industry 15-1 in five innings. Zach Desollar and Tannar Riddell had two hits apiece and combined for five runs.
Jack Kaylor, Gillespie: The left fielder collected two hits and three RBIs in Gillespie’s 12-1, five-inning win over Metro-East Lutheran. Carson Hailstone doubled and drove in three runs.
Softball
Meena Taylor, Auburn: The pitcher struck out 12 batters, walked zero and tossed a three-hit shutout in Auburn’s 4-0 victory over Hillsboro. She supported herself at the plate by going 3-for-3 with an RBI double and run-scoring single. Freshman Giada Sinclair added a two-run double in the first inning.
Kenzie Law, Jacksonville: The winning pitcher threw a complete game, striking out two and walking four in the Crimsons’ 11-2 home win over Macomb. Law allowed four hits and no earned runs and Chase Niece, Maci Moore and Alyvia Woods each had two hits and an RBI apiece.
Laurynn Mayberry/Regan Kutz, Lincoln: Mayberry went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs and three RBIs and Kutz had two hits with a double and three RBIs as Lincoln knocked off Morton 15-5 in five innings. Grey Gilbert scored three times and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two steals.
Shelby Ashcraft, Pana: The shortstop belted two home runs and finished 3-for-3 with runs and three RBIs in Pana’s 11-2 win at Raymond Lincolnwood. Joey Laker pitched a complete game with four strikeouts, no walks and one earned run on seven hits.
Kylynn Maltby/Vanessa Nunez, Beardstown: Maltby and Nunez both homered and finished with three RBIs apiece as Beardstown blanked Mendon Unity 17-0 in four innings. Bella Palmer went 3-for-3 with three runs and Autumn Bowman (2-for-2, three runs) drove in three.
Lexi Patton/Audrey Cooper, Buffalo Tri-City: Patton and Cooper both had run-scoring doubles and Tri-City edged Athens 5-4. Tiffany Farley doubled and scored twice and winning pitcher Lily Woodworth struck out nine and threw six innings for the win.
Ava Parish, Gillespie: The shortstop went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and Gillespie defeated Metro-East Lutheran 15-0 in four innings. Sadie Sholtis and Ava Rakers added three hits each, two RBIs and two runs apiece.
Elliot Hood, Rushville-Industry: The second baseman collected two hits and knocked in three runs in the Rockets’ 18-3, four-inning victory over Augusta Southeastern. Devin Vogler went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Ella Greer, Williamsville: The catcher went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, but Williamsville gave up four runs in the top of the seventh inning and lost to Normal U-High 7-5.
Kylie Teimeyer, Petersburg PORTA: The first baseman singled and drove in two runs in PORTA’s 14-4, six-inning loss at Concord Triopia.
Izzy Janus, Staunton: The sophomore had a hit and an RBI in Staunton’s 5-1 loss to Carrollton.
Girls Track and Field
Diana Huerta, Beardstown: The junior won three events to help the Tigers finish third in an eight-team home meet. In the 100-meter dash, she beat out Havana freshman Evy Smith by 0.1 seconds and finished in 0:12.7. She won the 200 dash in 26.9 seconds and took the triple jump with an effort of 31-feet, 5 ½ inches.
Millie Schumacher, Jacksonville Routt: The freshman won the 400-meter dash in 1 minute, 2.5 seconds and the 800 run in 2:30.2 in the eight-team Beardstown meet. She was also the 1,600 runner-up in 6:32.7.
Evy Smith, Havana: The Ducks’ freshman swept both hurdles events of the eight-team Beardstown meet, finishing the 100-high hurdles in 16.3 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 51.5. She also missed a third first-place finish by 0.1 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Girls Soccer
Jay Smith, Pleasant Plains: The senior goalkeeper provided the shutout in a 3-0 win over Jacksonville. Caroline Willenborg, Ro Fraase and Bailey Leach each delivered a goal.
