this is a great honor for me to join this board and you guys have been awesome in every aspects, i've been hanging around in this board and recently i've been also hung around in the chat recently and enjoyed every moment i had there

i don't get to watch the games so much but i did watch the suns vs the kings (preseason) and the suns vs the cavs

here are some observations
about Amare, i think he really needs to work on his footwork especially in the post up move, in some occasions, i found that when he posts up other player, if he can't use his speed, he tends to make a spin move and then make a quick release awkward jump shot which do actually look like what shawn usually did. I am glad he's been working on his jumper and his speed is amazing, however when he relies on speed to dribble over the big man, his pathway could usually anticipate by the others easily (drew gooden blocked him few times as i recalled) Therefore i think he should really work on his footwork and his jumpshot (KG jumper is great and allow him to have so many time to look at the basket), I also think Q is really awesome with his footworks, he's been great i think although he didn't shoot well. For shawn marion, maybe it is all about the famous john stark incident, he didn't attack to basket now. there are few occasions that eric snow is guarding him, and he slashed, stopped and popped and clanked from about 15 feet range... sometime i think if he could rely his two trick ponies (fast break and his quick release jumper) and get 20 pts. if he could drive and draw some fouls, he could really get 30 pts a game!!

I like Q and small ball, but i think they need to adjust the starting lineup at times.

about eddy curry, report has that he is asking for max contract this summer

Nice to meet you, wilkinshui. :)

I think Amare is still rapidly improving, although he'll never look like KG--Garnett plays more like a small forward on offense, and gets the vast majority of his points on mid-range jumpers. The main thing that Amare needs to improve IMO (aside from continuing to work on his jumper) is his passing; teams are forced to collapse on him to prevent layups and dunks, so if Amare could pick out passing opportunities on his way to the basket, it would lead to a lot of easy shots.

I think Marion's problems inside are that he's got bad hands, has a low release point on his shot, and isn't a power jumper: he has a tough time shrugging off 'incidental' contact and getting his shot off in heavy traffic. I don't think Marion's issue right now is shot selection (I didn't have any problem with those mid-range shots against Snow, for instance) as much as his shooting touch on the 8- to 15-foot jumper. In fact, I think Marion's done a much better job of drawing fouls this year.

I agree with you about Q and small ball, though.

Welcome to message board. It actually surprised me to see a "1" for your post count. I know you've been in the chat rooms a bunch of times.

I'm not as worried about Amare Stoudemire's passing as I am his positioning on the boards and more importantly his passing. Now I will say that I think he would do much better passing the ball if his teammates would just slash towards the basket when he gets double teamed. Instead they all stand around the perimeter. In fact most of the time they don't even get in good position on the perimeter to get the ball from him. I'm complaining mostly about the swingmen Shawn Marion, JJ, and Quentin Richardson.

During Shawn Marion's first few years if he stopped to take a 10-15 foot jump shot I felt confident it was probably going into the basket. Over the last few seasons that confidence has disappeared. Unfortunately he doesn't look like he has the confidence in that shot either. It's the worst when he is wide open. It's as if JJ stole his consistency with his jump shot. I actually think Marion's best shot now (other than a fast-break slamdunk) is his floater in the lane. It's actually not quite a floater he just kind of the throws it up there with one hand. If he misses it a good part of the time he will score on a put back.

Most of us have been saying for most of the young season that Q should be coming off the bench and going straight to the low post.

Shawn Marion has been 1 of my favorite players since joining Suns (although I like Stoudemire, Johnson, Richardson, Nash, Barbosa, Hunter, Lampe, Vroman, Jacobsen, Voskuhl, Cabarkapa, YUTA TABUSE, Outlaw, etc... LOL ok everybody) but 1 problem I've always had with him, that is hardly mentioned (it sort of stopped late last year it seems as he seemed to penetrate much more and in control and actually had quite a few assists) is when he drives in lane - he seems AT TIMES to be a little too quick with ball at times and misses a few lay-ups... he slowed down a bit last year and had some impressive drives though.

I just don't see how Suns could Trade him though, there just aren't that many dominating Centers and a handfull of PF's that could play alongside Amare Stoudemire, that Marion should be off limits (IMO keep the core). I'd prefer to get a PF in the Draft or a decent PF (via Trade: Bulls Draft, Milos Vujanic, and 1 or 2 role players)...
