Nine days before their regular season schedule kicks off, the Phoenix Suns have fired general manager Ryan McDonough, a move surprising not only in its timing but for its apparent reasoning. Unless something surfaces about a newfound scandal or a fireable offense, McDonough seemed to have the Suns trending in the right direction and probably deserved another year on the job. Phoenix also signed Trevor Ariza to a free agent deal and traded for Ryan Anderson.
