Both Fitz and Q have played exactly 156 games in their NFL careers. Here are their career stats.

Larry - 846 receptions 11,367 Yards 13.4 Ave 572 first downs
Quan - 857 receptions 11,344 Yards 13.2 Ave 557 first downs

It doesn't get any closer than that.

Funny that fans talk about Fitz as going down in history as one of the best ever while talking about Q simply as "good". In reality their #'s are identical.

Both average exactly 5.4 receptions per game, 73 yards per game and 3.6 first downs per game

Even in longest career reception Fitz - 78 yards, Q - 79 yards.

There was that insane explosion during the playoffs Fitzgerald had during our Super Bowl run which really vaulted him in front

One big difference is TD's... Fitz has 87. Boldin has 61.

Fitz has also played 1 less year, scored 23 more TDs & had his pace crushed & misused for the last 3 yrs due to bad teams & QB play.

I like both dudes, but Fitz still is the better playmaker IMO.

Yup about even steven. Q is a journeyman and Fitz is the face of a franchise though.

They couldn't be any more opposite... interesting to see their #'s so close...
Boldin is the antithesis of Larry. Larry is the high-flying, strong but graceful WR and Q is the low to the ground, seek and destroy missle...

They have always been close like that. I remember when there would be threads as to who was better (Boldin v. Fitz, at first Boldin was more popular, then Fitz for that last season of Boldin in 08) I would post stats like this showing both are remarkably close in production.

For whatever reason, and it is weird, the Cardinals franchise is second to none in drafting or developing great WRs. If we had that much success at OT, QB, RB, etc..... we'd be so dominant.

True about the big difference in TD's. Fitz is 3 years younger, so when all is said and done his #'s will look better. On a per game basis though, pretty much the same.

I read that as "face crushed" and thought you were talking about the wrong guy.

Can you believe that was five years ago?

too bad they both couldn't have stayed Cardinals and gone down in history as one of the greatest tandems ever. It was so much fun watching them play together. Not paying Q was one of the bigger Cards' mistakes ever.

Conversely, you could say Q was misused the first few years of his career until Kurt Warner came along.

Fitz came into the league at age 20 ... Q at 22yrs old.

He may have already done enough. He has something Fitz doesn't a ring and a big time performance In the big game where u come out ahead. He also had a pretty dominant playoff run albeit not as dominant as Fitz's.

I would bet that if he gets to 1000 receptions and 13000 yards and around 75 TDs added to his slew of NFL records and accomplishments I could see him making it. I would say that if he gets another really good playoff run and another ring tht may do it too.

IMO Fitz's big play ability is limited now because he's playing in the slot so much. That's always been where Q kills people. They aren't the same type of players IMO.

I would hardly say Q was being misused in his first 3 full seasons DeAnna...1377, 1402 & 1203. Just my 2 cents

Man I don't know dude, it was like pulling teeth for C Carter to get in, Reed still hasn't gotten in & the logjam of pass catchers will just get bigger with the passing game of today. Another ring might do it though.

In the end we all know it's about rings. That's why a guy like Swann got in but in no way deserved it IMO. Carter has none. One more ring may be just what puts him over the top. And 1000 receptions and 13000 yards hardly anything to scoff at. Regardless of today's NFL. Even in a pass happy league Quan still fastest to 200 300 400 500 600 catches etc.... Still #5 in nfl history in average receptions a game etc..... The resume is there IMO.

At the risk of beating a dead horse: the cards absolutely paid Q; he just let himself get Rosenhaused. He overplayed his hardball hand by throwing a hissy fit at the NFC Title Game and putting himself above the team while donning Eagles colors.

And, Q was my favorite Cardinal, BTW.

probably comes from our trend of playing from behind and throwing like madmen trying to catch up

For 50 years sadly.

1963: Sonny Randle 51 receptions 1,014 yards and 12 TDs plus Bobby Joe Conrad 73 receptions 967 yards and 10 TDs.

What do you think about Hines Ward 1000-12000-85 2 rings, does he get in?
