The NFL draft is fast approaching, and based on recent history, Philadelphia and GM Howie Roseman will be busy on night one and likely throughout the three-day event. The Eagles roster will look different at key positions, and as off-season workouts begin, the team could look to move on from tight end Dallas Goedert and defensive end Bryce Huff, among others.
With draft night just hours away, we're looking at five Birds that could be dealt during the draft.
Goedert is a warrior, and when he's healthy, the talented pass catcher is one of the top tight ends in the NFL. Goedert is 30 years old, and like Zach Ertz before him, the Eagles could be preparing for an exit strategy as they work to get younger at the position. Goedert is set to enter the final year of his deal and has no guaranteed money with his $11,810,583 salary cap hit for 2025. Last season, Goedert played in 10 games, logging 42 receptions for 496 yards, averaging 11.8 yards per catch, and two scores. Goedert has missed 15 games since the 2022 season and has only played a full slate of games once.
A prize-free agent signing this time last spring, Huff was a major disappointment in 2024 and saw limited playing time due to the rotation and injuries. Huff had 2.5 sacks, missed seven games, and was inactive for the Super Bowl.
Eli Ricks will move up the Eagles' depth chart after a season spent watching and continuing to learn his craft. He could also be trade bait because Ricks is 23 years old, plays with great length, and has had incredible mentors in Darius Slay and James Bradberry.
Davis logged 27 tackles (15 solo), one sack, and two passes defended while playing in all 17 regular-season games in 2024. He added six tackles (four solo), including two sacks and one pass defense across four playoff appearances.
Davis started every regular-season game for the second year in a row, but he logged 122 fewer defensive snaps and ceded snaps to second-year defensive lineman Moro Ojomo. Philadelphia targeting Walter Nolen or Darius Alexander could spell doom for Davis.
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders in a trade before the 2024 season. They exchanged a 2025 third-round pick, two seventh-round picks for Dotson, and a fifth-round pick. Dotson caught 19 of 33 targets for 216 yards in 17 regular-season games with the Eagles in 2024 after being acquired in a trade from Washington. He also rushed once for 13 yards. Despite his struggles, Dotson played 649 offensive snaps during the regular season for Philadelphia, working as a No. 3 receiver behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
