Wow.

That was freaking awesome.

I have silently wondered to myself while watching games what the dynamic between Larry and Michael is. They are always supportive of eachother on the field but I think MF can be a #1 WR on most teams in this league, and I often wonder if the shadow of Larry bothers him.

No matter how selfless you try to be it's hard to share the spotlight sometimes. I mean, in the stadium we dont change MICHAEL, MICHAEL, even when he does things that make even Larry say WOW.

I love this freakin team.

This has to the be the one or only team in the NFL right now that is all about team. They seem to all have the chemistry and all want the other player to succeed even if it takes the spotlight away from them. There are enough veterans willing to help the young guys. I sure hope the Cards can keep the majority if not all the players they have for next year (I know thats pretty hard). Honestly, I cannot name 1 bad attitude (Burfect type) on this team. BA is a huge part of that. Sure do love being a fan of these guys!

I love this about CJ from the Palmer article.

''I learned everything I needed to know about Chris Johnson from one play. It was one of his first days with the team, back in training camp. We were doing a walkthrough and he was shadowing the starting tailback. A blitz came. The starter stepped one way, and Chris stepped the opposite way. The correct way.

I thought, Wow … that’s a pretty ballsy move.

Most guys in that situation — being the new guy learning a new system and not wanting to mess up — would just follow the guy in front of him. If he’s wrong, you’re both wrong. But Chris went the correct way because he knew the exact adjustment within that protection.

That play showed me how intelligent Chris is. That particular blitz was a tough one to pick up, even for the starter — a guy who’s been there a long time. Chris basically stepped off the plane and into a Cardinals uniform and got it right. Tailback is a very difficult position within our offense, and not only did he make the proper adjustment on that play, he literally learned the entire offense within a week.''

So who (do you think) went the wrong way, Ellington?

Not that it matters.

Floyd is a number one WR... he just plays for the Cardinals where players like Fitz and Q make the expectations extremely lofty, but the kid is really in beast mode now :)

I would assume he was the starter at the time. Could have been anyone really. Palmer could have meant the starting rb for that day of practice. Who knows for sure but the point is CJ picked the offense right away & by all accounts it's a very complicated offense to learn. That's what impressed me.

Funny I don't see all the Floyd hate anymore. What happened did he just learn how to play the last 6 weeks

I actually think Floyd is a beast. I said it when he was drafted. Still, he hasn't lived up to his potential, in a traditional offense. I mean to say if he was a clear #1, he's probably a Brandon Marshall, who is awesome, I don't think people realize how awesome that dude is. Marshall is one of a few dudes to have 6 1000 yard seasons in history, and Floyd could be that guy. But he isn't because he has to share the ball with a Fitz and Brown and giving it to Johnson and others.

Floyd is superb. If he was Fitz we'd be going insane, and he's a lot like Fitz, when it comes to body position and catching balls. Floyd makes insane catches, just insane. He'd be a #1 on another team, no doubt.

Is Floyd a FA next season? Anyone think we'll be able to keep him. I'd like think he gives us a "home town discount", but if someone throws 50MM+ at him....

I'd sure like to keep him around. Great size, insane catch radius, good route runner, willing and capable blocker, great guy. Everything you want in a player.

Go Cards!!!

The Cardinals already picked up Floyd's $7M option for next season. I think Steve Keim will try to work an extension with him to sign him up long-term, but for now he's under team control for another year.

It's cool seeing Keim on top of things and being proactive.

I like Floyd alot. He is a quiet guy and does seem to disappear at times but he is really good at all aspects of his position. Fast, physical, great hands, good run after the catch. I think he will only improve as he gets older and Fitz has less of a role.

He is also a willing and capable blocker as well.

This just explains why CJ remained the starter as after Ellington got hurt. BA values guys knowing their job as and doing it correctly.

Ah. I though the $7MM option was for this year. Glad to know it's for the future. Gives Keim some time to work out something longer term.

My only issue with MF at this point is he isn't consistent enough with his hands, he drops more balls than he should. Fitz drops one every season or two and MF drops one every game or so. At this point he is faster, stronger and more explosive than Fitz but as stated needs to become more consistent.

I loved and defended his being picked (11th overall?) and hope he gets extended/re-signed this next year. He is a beast and will continue to get better and better which means he is easily a #1 type WR.

Finally had time to read it. That's a great article. Thanks for sharing it.

Players tribune is becoming my new favorite site. Not as good as Grantland but they're doing some good work and will only get better. There's another thread about the suck that has become ESPN, part of that is gobbling up really good sites like Grantland and others and then dismantling them or handicapping them. They eat the competition, shut them down, and they're the only thing left. ESPN regularly sucks, but it's not new, they've sucked supreme ass for awhile.
