It's a little discouraging in stating what we already know. Teams are taking away the quick short throws and finding ways to pressure Kurt thus negating the passing game. Unless or until the Cardinals get a decent ground game, good defenses are going to pressure Warner and stymie the offense.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3772916

excerpt:

Warner, while having a great season, gets jittery when facing a pass rush and starts forcing throws (as a former Mike Martz quarterback, he suffers from a disease known as "Post-Traumatic Blitz Disorder"). He threw only one interception on Sunday, but three other balls were dropped by defenders. Against the equally blitz-happy Eagles, Warner threw a season-high three interceptions.

The Cardinals do not have the running game necessary to protect Warner and slow down opposing pass rushes. He will need to connect on a few balls down the field and have Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin make big plays after the catch to take advantage of the blitz. The Cardinals' inventive schemes that get the ball to their receivers quickly in space are being countered by aggressive opposing defenses which force Warner to hold the ball longer than he wants

That is the Cardinals current problem in a nutshell. Opponents have figured out how to defend the passing game that was working earlier in the season.

Whisenhunt and Haley need to quickly come up with something to counter.

I have never understood why they have totally benched Edge when he did have a 1000 yd season and I believe about 3.6 yd/carry last year
. I tbhink it would help if we could regain a little bit of running game from a standard set on a couple of the downs.

If they had been reading this forum, they would have been reading the same for 3 or 4 weeks now.

Would you come with the counter now or wait until the playoffs?

I agree. One of the benefits of clinching a payoff spot early allows Whiz to reel the offense in. From this point forward we will be hiding schemes as to not show our hand.

Do I really believe this, nope but here's to hoping this is Whiz's strategy.

we need to stick with the running game more, we abandon it too quickly IMO.
Just put KW under centre more often and use our FBs to lead HT...and stick with it more it will happen just give it a chance

I was OK with giving the other guys a shot, but at this point keeping 32s jersey completely clean is a bad choice IMO.

Let's just hope Whis isn't too proud to go back to #32. It may not be THE solution, but at this point, I'll take something over nothing.

The problem in a nutshell is that the Car*s essentially wrapped up the division a month ago.

But PCF does make a good point, I hadn't thought about.

Here's to hoping that they at least try to run the damn ball a few times the next couple of weeks!

J-ville isn't the strongest team in the league, but I watched Indy beat them with no running game to speak of last night. IMO, this is still possible for Manning because he has an excellent O-line that gives him enough time to do it.

I know the year they won the SB, they had a decent running game, but their strenght has always been passing. There is no reason the Cards can't employ this strategy, this year anyway, if they can muster decent blocking upfront.

Maybe they are resting Edge for the play-offs so he'll be fresh come round 1.....
