Man, such big words shouldn't be used when talking about football.

Anyway, sifting through mail again I noticed that the Cards have yet again sent me my "renew your season tickets" flier. Well, I can't be a season ticket holder because of work reasons. I would be though. Don't get me wrong.

Anyway, I'm looking at this thing and I get this vision of that ring announcer, (not Sean from channel 12), over the loud speaker....

"Welcome Arizona fans to Sun Devil Stadium in beautiful Tempe, Arizona......

"And now your starting lineup for the 2003 NFL Arizona Cardinals season....

BOOM BOOM, we all know the pyrotechnic stuff.

Give me the starting lineup Game 1. Offense. Defense. If you have the nerve.

Offense:

WR Bryan Gilmore
LT LJ Shelton
LG Pete Kendall
C Frank Garcia
RG Leonard Davis
RT Anthony Clement
TE Freddie Jones
WR Jason McAddley
QB Jeff Blake
RB Emmitt Smith
FB James Hodgins

Defense:

LE Calvin Pace
LT Marcus Bell
RT Wendell Bryant
RE Kyle Vanden Bosch
OLB Raynoch Thompson
MLB Ronald McKinnon
OLB Levar Fisher
CB Duane Starks
CB David Barrett
SS Adrian Wilson
FS Dexter Jackson

Special Teams:

K Bill Gramatica
P Scott Player
LS Nathan Hodel
H Scott Player
KR Kevin Kasper
PR Bryant Johnson

I think Gilmore impresses in camp and emerges as our #1 WR.

I think Marcus Bell earns a starting tackle job in camp. He really showed some pass rush ability toward the end of the season in 2002.

If Calvin Pace is in camp on time, I think he starts.

No matter who "starts" on the D-Line, there will be a massive rotation going on.

The punt retuner could be different if Johnson emerges as a receiving threat early. If he does, I can see Larry Foster jumping in that role.

Keep your tickets. When my bro moved to Wash DC area, he kept them but just sold the tix to his buddies still here

Glad to see someone has Duncan as our K.

I'm still working on jotting down my starters. Just wanted to see who would be closest to the actual lineup when the season starts.

On the tix, I think I'm going to have to do the Flexpak again. Being on call really sucks.

I agree with Metal Militia's predicted starting roster - with a couple of minor exceptions:

- I'd flop Pace and VDB so that VDB is over on the left and Calvin comes off the right edge.

- Both return slots are up for grabs. While Kasper is "adequate", I think the Cards want more explosion. I'm not sure Johnson has the necessary burst. It wouldn't surprise me if a UDFA came out of the woodwork to nail down one or both spots.
