This morning my tv wouldn't turn on and was making a clicking noise. I did some internet searching and learned that Samsung has capacitor issues. I took it down and removed the back for examination but didn't notice signs of bad capacitors. After putting it back together it started up fine, so I set it up again. Well, it turned off right in the middle of the Syracuse Kstate game, which pissed me off! I returned to the internet and found that Samsung has recently agreed on a class action settlement to fix bad capacitors and power boards on a ton of models and mfg dates. Mine was mfg June 2008 and is not under warranty anymore. Now some tech is going to come to my house and fix/replace for free. Pretty sweet.

MESA! :thud:
Sounds similar with what we went through with Sony (not sure what the issue was, but the class/action & repair/replace). Ultimately, we weren't satisfied with the "fix" so they sent us a new tv, and we got to keep the old one. The issue wasn't THAT big of a deal (small green-ish spot that you can only really see once the tv is off). Sweet deal, all in all. Two 60" (65"? I don't even know anymore) tvs, and only paid for one. Good luck to you!

Thanks for sharing. I have a Samsung. Haven't had issues with it yet, but this is good to know.
