Forced upgrade to HR20 DVR

DirecTV kept calling and calling about having me upgrade to their "new" DVR. I have one of the first incarnations of the HD-DVRs with Tivo. We like it alright and don't do much HD except over the air. So they are coming out on Wednesday to install it, no cost to us at all.

Anyone have this? If so do you like it? I hear it's not as smooth as the Tivo units. There is a slick black one at Costco I would have liked to have gotten, but no dice

No its isn't quite as good as a Tivo, close enough form the BS about it but now. I've met a Tivo and this is no Tivo, only about 80% of a Tivo

Lots of little things, that build up over time. DTV boosters will pick on each function and in marketing speak it sounds exactly like a Tivo but we all know how accurate marketing speak is.

It works, is just annoying if you have had a Tivo

I have noticed the inputs slower on the HD20. I press the button, wait, then the HD20 reacts.

I notice it most when scrolling in the guide.

I got the new box today and they brought me an HR23, it's black and sleak with a 500GB HD

Is the interface any better? I'm holding out until DirecTV releases their TIVO box, sometime later this year.

I can't stand the current DirecTV DVR.
