The more I read about and see highlights about him the more impressed I get.I know it would be a longshot but if he was available at 13 then why not pick him if your other top choices where already gone. The kid looks like he going to be a good player. If Cards drafted him he could battle Boehm for starting OG and next season Boehm can take over Center spot replacing Shipley.

Love this kid! And Max Starks mentioned this morning that he's the perfect OG - physical and nasty, which you cannot teach. Move down a few picks and he's my guy in Rd 1.

I have to ask myself is drafting the top OLineman better for the team instead of the 2nd or 3rd best CB.Tough choice because Draft has many quality OLinemen and CBs to be had in rds 2 and later.I would think that whoever was drafted in RD 1 will be a instant starter (except QB).Tough choice to make.

He's probably in the group of players that I would be very satisfied with if we traded down. But would really help solidify our line!

At 13, no way. Maybe in the bottom of the first if we traded down.

No matter how complex football gets, it's all about trench warfare and it would not be a bad selection but not in the first

I wouldn't limit our options to Lamp. The guys on SIRIUS love Feeney's toughness, one of the NFLN analysts showed footage of Cam Robinson sustaining second level run blocks. Others love Bolle's mean streak.

We could do far worse than to add these 4 guys to the number of players we could trade down from #13 and still be guaranteed to get one of.

There is still truth to this but it's no longer an absolute. Look at last year. Seahawks had the worst offensive line imaginable. Still they not only made the playoffs, but won a game. You've got to have a balance between trench players & skill players. Another thread makes a good point that it's easier to get O-line players later. That's why it's a big gamble to elevate a guard. If you want him, trade down. If he's gone there are several good players in the early 20's.

That statement is almost an oxymoron. "The trench is the key to your football team....best to be thrifty and use late picks for the trench"

I love what Dallas has done. Invested several high picks into a line that is taking them straight to the superbowl.

Ill say this, in regards to any position: You get what you pay for.

Want an elite line? Gotta dole out the big picks.

I do not consider the second or third a late round for the position. Watching football for so many years, I can still remember the wealth of rounds past seven lol

In a way didn't you just give the exception . The teams that give themselves a legit shot better have a decent O-line or a franchise QB so if you don't have one you better have the other JMO

The best part about drafting him would be that when he made comes out of the tunnel on Sundays, they could play the "i love lamp" clip from anchorman

2nd round if he is there.

There cannot be a big push for cornerbacks, and quarterbackers, and pass rushers, and not have a few guys slide. Guards slide all the time.
