According to a report Monday afternoon from On3's Pete Nakos, former Alabama Crimson Tide basketball assistant coach Bryan Hodgson has emerged as the top target to become the next head coach at UNLV, with a deal expected to come together.
Hodgson is currently the head coach at Arkansas State, a role he has served in for each of the last two seasons.
Prior to Arkansas State, Hodgson was an assistant coach at Alabama for four seasons from 2019-23, coming with Nate Oats to Tuscaloosa from Buffalo. With the Crimson Tide, Hodgson was an impactful recruiter for four seasons also, playing a key role in bringing numerous prospects to Alabama.
With the Red Wolves, Hodgson has led Arkansas State to a combined 45-28 record across the last two seasons, as well as a Sun Belt regular season title this past year.
