Former Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich has been out of coaching ever since he was fired by the Bucs in 2022. He was with the team from 2019 to 2022 but was with the Arizona Cardinals for several years before that as an offensive assistant coach.

After being out of coaching for the last two years, Leftwich will be coaching at Colorado in 2025.

Deion Sanders has made a knack for hiring former NFL players as position coaches and coordinators, bringing on Byron Leftwich is just the next player to join. Jordan Schultz first reported the move on Wednesday and it states that he is joining as an offensive assistant.

Leftwich joins Warren Sapp, another Bucs legend, and Marshall Faulk, who are currently on the staff at Colorado. For Leftwich, he will be happy to be back coaching but he will be based in cold weather for the first time since 2009 when he was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Big climate change from Tampa Bay to Boulder, Colorado for the former NFL quarterback.
