Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver commit Ny Carr is entering the transfer portal. Carr, who is a member of the class of 2024, was committed to Georgia from July 2022 to Sept. 2023.
The former four-star wide receiver recruit later committed to the Miami Hurricanes in Oct. 2023 before he signed with the Hurricanes in Dec. 2023.
Carr was one of the top receiver recruits in the class of 2024. However, his freshman season at Miami did not go as planned.
He recorded just one catch for eight yards in four regular season games. Carr also played in Miami’s bowl game and maintains four seasons of eligibility.
The 6-foot, 175-pound receiver was ranked as the No. 98 recruit in the class of 2024. Carr is known for his crisp route running and should be one of the more coveted wide receivers to enter the transfer portal this spring.
Based on where Georgia’s wide receiver room stands, we would not expect for the Bulldogs to target Carr, but head coach Kirby Smart rarely burns bridges, so you never know.
"Excited to see what they can do in the fall," said Georgia coach Kirby Smart on UGA's receiver room. "The biggest thing is keeping them healthy. I don't know what the number is, but I would bet there's six or seven of them that are in their first time playing this offense, and that takes a little time. So I thought the six or seven new guys got better as the spring went on, and they got a chance to get 20-something more practices to grow even more. We're not where we need to be at wide out, but we have a good group to work with."
